Which is why we need a proper actual Scorponok that represents how he appeared in 30 years worth of fictional appearances. You know, if there was a 'Commander' class Scorponok, I'd buy it. ...just to act out that heart-breaking scene from End if the Road.... except I'd need a Powermaster Optimus Prime for that to...

Sorry, SP, Scorponok died in 'On the Edge of Extinction', not 'End of the Road'.

Ohhh, err, well the trade I got -that changed my very life- had both stories in it. Or maybe it didn't. But... moving, nonetheless.

Yeah, fair point, he may well have died in a trade called 'End of the Road'.

Scorponok died on the edge of Unicron's foot.
Which always puzzled me - wouldn't Unicron have also burnt his own foot in the process?

Unicron is obviously immune to his own super-hot-foam-breath.

Which always puzzled me - wouldn't Unicron have also burnt his own foot in the process? Yeah, the more you think about it... If you're standing up and something attacks your foot, you would move your foot, wouldn't you? Either away, or to kick or step on the thing attacking you. Or you might crouch down to whack it. You don't try to spit on it or shoot it from a standing position. Martin

You're assuming that crazed gods older than the universe itself might possess some sort of logical thought processes...

I'm still confused as to why Unicron snuck up on Cybertron, ate one of the moons then buggered off for a while before coming back to attack Cybertron properly.

He needed to go for a poo inbetween.
I know I would if I ate a couple of moons.

I'm still confused as to why Unicron snuck up on Cybertron, ate one of the moons then buggered off for a while before coming back to attack Cybertron properly. You mean in the Movie rather than the comic? I guess because at that time he wasn't Primus's mortal enemy, just a giant planet-eating fellow, and he didn't have that much of an appetite after Lithone and the two moons. For a time he "considered sparing the wretched little planet Cybertron". His tummy being full would explain why, when Galvatron provoked him, he attacked the planet in robot mode rather than just eating it. Martin

Agreed. We do sometimes forget that Unicron wasn't really tied to Cybertron or the Transformers in a definite way and his whole relation to Cybertron was just a big retcon. With all his powers shown in the Movie, he could have just built up the ability to become a robot to sort of mimic and scare his new enemies during his exposure to the Transformers. He could have copied it after scanning Megatron & co somehow and this was the first time he did it. It would certainly explain the whole 'legs, arms, nose etc. He could have also done completely different things with his powers to destroy and intimidate other planets/life that betrayed him elsewhere in the universe.

I had been wondering how the two chests worked! I had completely failed to notice that he did in fact have two different chests - mostly because they're both so very similar. I don't know whether this makes me want him more or less...
