I have to say I'm how much I love Little Victories - I've read most of it on lunch breaks but have had to put it down and learn four scripts recently, but am at the final battle and looking forward to reading the conclusion this week. Since the 80's, my Micromaster toys have been identifies mainly by the name/what they do and the patrol/vehicle they came with. Some hold a special memory (a nice walk to Toys R Us on my birthday in 1990 to buy the Anti Aircraft Tank. Another being at School, waiting to get home as my mum had bought me Flattop whilst shopping). But now, thanks to the novel, all the Micro's have individual personalities - and pretty natural but quirky ones! I love that they are mostly portrayed as 'normal everyday guys' that are stuck in a war, when most of them would rather be doing other things. I also like the way the way that the robots use both 'he' and 'she' as pronouns. {Spoiler}The book also tricks us a couple of times with it's slight absurdity, in particular when, inbetween the robots wearing false mostaches as a disguise and throwing birthday parties), we are fooled into thinking that Flattop has grown a Metrotitan out of an old Metroplex leg! Surprisingly - there is a logical explanation!
Other highlights are Strikedown and co. puppeteering a dead Ultra Magnus and Hothouse finding friends on a spy mission.
I don't like Blazemaster though... A massive applause for Matt - this is going next to Eugenesis on my shelf once I've finished it. |

I think its time to admit I cant find any of my fanzines. I think they may have got mixed in with Toyfu stock. Gonna have to go searching.

I've saved Little Victories til last. Read all the other fine zines, and reread last year's as well because the little book of Masterforce was a doozy. Victories will follow when I finish Scratchman.
