Hah. They go to all the trouble of giving Fasttrack a half arsed spear mode and then just give Black Zarak a spear anyway. That was my first thought also. Well, after: "Is this an April Fool?" But it's nice, this, and a big surprise that they're actually doing it, and I'm sure a lot of people will be pleased. If space and money weren't an issue I'd be picking one up myself, but given I have a gaggle of Titans just clustering around the end of my dining table waiting for me to find them a home, I don't think I'll be adding to that. But still, good to see this done, and good to see they didn't slap an extra hundred quid on to the price because they could. |

Loving this. Scorponok is my favourite Titan: despite me feeling he should have been smaller I thought they really pulled it off. I thought Black Zarak was likely - it's a complete no brainer and it looked obvious after Black Roritchi (who I see is getting a rerun www.entertainmentearth.com/product/transformers-generations-selects-war-for-cybertron-earthrise-deluxe-black-roritchi-exclusive/hse8621) - but I was interested to see how they'd do the head, which looks nice from the prototype with a forehead that folds down in Scorpion mode. Love the battle damage on the larger Headmaster, giving it a "this is rebuilt from a destroyed Scorponok" feel. Can't wait to get this. Grand Max has 8 months to prepare for battle ! |

I will chuck a pre-order in at Star when their new site is up and running as they don't charge until shipping. I should be in a job by December! I must have this.
Still need to get a Black Roritchi and Fasttrack at some point.
Also pleasantly surprised there isn't a big price hike over Scorponok. One wonders if this was always meant for Selects.

From what I've read, they had said in the past they had no intentions of ever doing Black Zarak, but that changed after the positive reception of Black Rotaryphone.
Which given the retooling (which isn't a lot, but it's not nothing, either), that seems unlikely. So it was already intended, of Takara initiated it.

No but you can claim it's a tenner cheaper at ID and Star than Pulse.

'Latest pre-order for Transformers went live tonight.
This is due in December and there are no limits on numbers as it hasn't even been ordered from Hasbro yet, so absolutely no rush.
As a few people have been asking about this, we have put it live on the site, but if you do order, we will ask you to reorder on the new site at some point as the existing site will be switched off by the time this is released. I don't think there are any more preorders due until the new site is ready.
We hope to have the new site up and running just after Easter.'

Yeah, if I was to be picking up Black Zarak I'd be shifting my Scorponok. But... I just really like the colours on Zarak too much. And I'm not as attached to the character. So I'll pass, and hope that by Christmas meet-ups will be a thing again and I can play with someone else's.

I had the Black Zarak solicitation from Diamond this week. While some websites have it up for preorder at £139.99, the RRP is actually £149.99.

I caved. I ordered Black Zarak. I doubt that I would have if I had to pay retail, but it's pricey even at wholesale! Still, I can always resell it if I change my mind. I already have Scorponok.
