I know the WFC and FOC toys are all Cybertron modes - plus the BB, Cliffjumper, Thundercracker and Skywarp in T30 - but what other Cybertron mode toys are there? As I consider TF in an alien vehicle form to be cybertronian, regardless if it's a different planet or they never get an earth mode, quite a few have cybertronian modes. Most Cybertron toys are in cybertronian modes. Most notably Cybertron Planet, like Optimus and Starscream. I consider Velocitronian forms to be Cybertronian. Dovetailing into WfC, Megatron specifically refused to take an earth form in Prime. So did Shockwave. All Vehicons are cybertronian (and honestly some of the best imo), and averted the cockpit trope by giving them vehicular head modules. FP did a fair few cybertronian form BW guys, though they were all repaints, mostly of Cybertron toys.

It's a shame the Headmasters and Targetmasters had their vehicle modes before they went to Nebulos, because they look more Nebulan than Cybertronian, what with the prominent cockpits.
The Autobot and Decepticon Powermasters were silly, because they were Earth vehicles when they arrived on Nebulos, though we'd never seen them at large on Earth, while the members of Fort Max and Scorponok's crews who did get out and about on Earth didn't get Earth modes.
What is a pure Cybertronian mode, and what is inspired by alien forms?
Scorponok and the other Decepticon Headmasters' creature modes are clearly based on Earth animals - presumably designs shared with them by Decepticons who had been to Earth. So why should we believe the Decepticon Targetmasters are pure Cybertronian designs and not copied from alien vehicles?
I don't think we can trust present-day vehicle modes that are not Earth vehicles to be fully Cybertronian, when they could be vehicles from other planets. Similarly, the Monsterbots and Terrorcons may be actual animals from other planets.
The vehicle modes most likely to be pure Cybertronian designs are ones with no space for passengers, e.g. Jumpstarters.

TFWiki's great. I never realised before today how much of the art in 'And There Shall Come a Leader' was copied from other comics and cartoons. Martin THAT HAS BLOWN MY MIND. -Ralph

All the 1987 Headmasters, Targetmasters, Springer, Technobots, Jumpstarters, original Pretenders etc. I wonder why (storywise) Fort Max's Autobots felt they didn't need to have Earth modes when they came to our planet when most other arrivals needed to be altered to blend in? Because most of them effectively had 'human' modes perhaps? They weren't exactly trying to blend in. And maybe couldn't see a need after having lived amongst and with other humans from a different planet for so long. Galan was definitely all we must find the Autobots rather than obey an Autobot equivalent of the Prime Directive. Took him a while to realise the consequences of Autobots in Earth. By QUICKLY DYING. -Ralph

As part of the Transformers Universe, did Rock Lords once poseess Cybertronian modes? And did they just crash on a completely lifeless barren planet, so their ship's computer just simply didn't have much inspiration to go on for their new disguise modes?

Battle Beasts are part of the TF franchise. Rock Lords are part of the Gobot franchise.
Edit: And the film 'Labyrinth'.

Gobots are part of the Transformers franchise. Officially. Both Hasbro and Takara acknowledge it, even if it's a copyright minefield.
But as Gobots and Rock Lords did not originate from Cybertron (unlike the lost colonies like Velocitron), They would not have cybertronian modes. Gobots would have Gobotronian modes pre-earth though.

Rock Lords were biological to start with. They fused with rock during the Great Catastrophe. Nuggit is the exception, being a robot found and repaired after the Great Catastrophe.
