I mean not what I was expecting for this milestone, but then they did put the massive third version of Optimus Prime at, so why not?
Thankfully, despite no doubt being a lovely figure, I'm sure, this is one I'll be able to skip. Had I actually not been put off buying these thanks to the ever-spiralling prices of the MP figures and the questionable build qualities I would've been forced to buy all the MP Beast Wars figures (as was my intention when Primal was released), including this one. But thankfully for my wallet, Takara decided to play a different game...

It looks like Tigatron reuses Cheetor's crotch piece, and shoulders. I am very satisfied. Tigatron gave me anxiety. I would have rather they skipped him than made him a cheetor repaint.
I predict we will get an orange repaint.
Though I really find myself starting to hope they call it quits after Season 1. The price that would be attached to Rampage, Depth Charge, TM2 Megatron, and Tigerhawk is terrifying. And Optimal Optimus? I can't even bring myself to think about that monstrosity.

So this actually has the tiger head on the chest instead of faking it. Cool.

These pictures are seriously testing my resolve. Thankfully I spent two Unicrons' worth of money on a new roof this week, so I'm glad to just not have the spare cash at this time. *sobs* Though I really find myself starting to hope they call it quits after Season 1. The price that would be attached to Rampage, Depth Charge, TM2 Megatron, and Tigerhawk is terrifying. And Optimal Optimus? I can't even bring myself to think about that monstrosity. Ooft. Yeah, whilst I have a soft spot for OpOp's ridiculousness, there's no way I'd be able to afford an MP version. Given that BW Megatron was £300, we'd be looking at Unicron levels of money for that. Even TM2 Megatron, which is the one I really want (and the reason I decided not to drop the money on S1 BW Megatron), is sure to be out of my price range...

Thing is guys, s2+3 beast wars animation models are decent enough matches to their toys that and articulated enough that what can a MP offering give us?
Except TM Rat Trap's back having a rotation.

Scale, for one thing. Not only are MPs at a different scale and incompatible with the original line, they are also in scale with each other, which the original toyline wasn't (compared to the show).

Any self respecting TF collector cares not for such things. Scale is never achievable!

Not until TM2 Megatron (debatable) and Optimal Optimus, did any of the season 1 characters change size. Even though several of them changed toy classes (rattrap and airazor moved up from basic to deluxe, Megatron and Primal moved down from Ultra toy Mega, Blackarachnia moved up from deluxe to mega).
In the show, Megatron was huge, and stayed that size when he became a transmetal. Primal stayed relatively the same size as a transmetal, though he could possibly be a bit bigger. Rattrap always stayed small, not reflecting the upsizing of his toy.

Any self respecting TF collector cares not for such things. Scale is never achievable! Only if you limit yourself to sunbow and G1! But this is the far superior Beast Wars! Scale is perfectly achievable! (Just not financially sound)

Request for balance from IDToys is in. C'mon TakTom, you're on thin ice with the MP line right now...

I have to say my excitement for the overpriced BW MPs has certainly been undercut by Generations producing toys that are a better size, just as amazing looking, and for a fraction of the price.

I was all in because we were finally getting BW in a significant way, and we all knew that Hasbro would never do BW on a scale that's more than just lip service. And with Botcon and the Club done (no more $500 sets or $300 subscriptions), I can justify the occasional giant price of the BWMP.
But after Tigatron, I don't know if I wanna keep following through with them. I'm not even sure if I want to keep my Tigatron preorder.
On the flip side of that argument, the MPs may have been a huge contributor to why Generations is shifting focus. And there will be a significant drop in the interest of these with the smaller, cheaper, and just as good Generations BWs. It's still plausible they may read that as people losing interest in BW, over people preferring the more reasonably priced competition.
Also G1 gets this level of love all the time. maybe it's worth spoiling myself with two BW lines.

For me it's simply a question of cost. If not for the price of the individual figures I'd have certainly got a Dinobot and a Megatron when they came out, and I'd most certainly have a Tigatron on pre-order because he looks gorgeous. But as it is, I won't be getting one right now. Not unless the Scraplet gets off his four-month-old arse and starts bringing in some dough, that is. Typical lazy post-millenial bugger.

It's a communicube that he sends to Optimus Primal to discuss a truce in the Beast Wars episode Before The Storm. Quite why it's ended up with Tigatron I don't know, but here we are.

Didn't Tigatron work a puzzle shaped like Megatron's head in order to hack into the predacon computer?

I'm gonna give him a perfect 5 disembodied Megatron heads out of 7.
Be careful with those knees, make sure you pop the hinge down to unlock it before folding out the lower leg. Other than that, pretty straight forward transformation. Didn't even look at the box pics, let alone the instructions. Particularly like the crotch panels and the rotation of parts on the legs rather than the entire leg/hips themselves.

Another point to note - if you want proper knee articulation, be sure to rotate above and below the knee to get the hinge pointing the right way.
