I'm still in to it. I won't ditch FT Rogue, but I will probably pick this up to keep in vehicle mode!

Only £130 at ID. Due December.
On your bike Takara.
Sad this. I class myself as an MP collector, but I haven't bought a new Takara mould for ages on account of the fact they either cost stupid money or look crap. Both in this case.
Last MP I bought was Sunstreaker. 2017!

I've come to like this toy less and less each time I see the pictures - too kibbly, not quite right, and the car mode is not particularly exciting (and that's outwith anything else). Given the QC issues recent MPs have had, this one was also looking to be slightly concerning given how slender parts of it are. So for that price? Thanks, but no. Disappointing, but at least there's Earthrise and Cyberverse Arcees coming out this year too...

Indeed. To be in a position to have THREE Arcess to chose from at all (nevermind in one year) is a good position to be in.

Of course I am making the massive assumption that I'll ever see the Cyberverse Arcee in this country, and am also fully aware that Earthrise Arcee is in Wave 2, the cursed wave. But still...

We won't get Cyberverse Arcee. It's a Deluxe.

So one Arcee. We might get one Arcee this year. Still, that's better than any year from the first 20 of the franchise.

I look forward to paying silly money to import Cyberverse Arcee.

I can't believe Im saying this, but MP Arcee is a pass. Its not terrible, but it really doesnt seem to be doing anything that T30 and ER Arcee doesn't.
The lack of variety in the faces was the final straw. I didn't much like the one Id seen and was hoping for an alternative that I did.
If I see it for under £100 or they release a headmaster version I may change my mind.
I think I'm pretty much done with Masterpiece now. Even if I wasnt being priced out I really havent liked most of the nwer ones. I really like Spin Out, but Im still hoping eventually they'll Sunstreaker with the toy version of the mould. Likewise I want Hound, but again want the toy version and not at full price and it would be even better if the QC issues were fixed. Oh and I need MP+ Shockwave at some point I guess.
Then theres only MP Jazz that would tempt me.

I feel exactly the same. Sunstreaker was the last one I felt had a look I could cope with, but as you say, the other head would have improved it no end. Since then I just think Fans Toys keep the right side of the toy/toon balance and they make kibble free figures that feel premium quality compared to the lightweight Takara ones. These huge ugly backpacks the Takara ones have now, like Prime, Bumblebee and (inevitably admittedly) Arcee - they look awful. The figures are compromised for a front view that matches the cartoon when everything else just hangs off the back.
I think with Masterpiece now I'm looking for an end point. I need to reassess and work out where I can opt out altogether. Won't be for a while as I'll follow Fans Toys through on the first four Special Teams, but whenever I see a full blown Masterpiece display they never seem to really work anyway because of the change in style over time. Masterpiece displays don't look like an ultimate collection - they just look like a random jumble of figures.

They're more concerned with trying to be cartoon accurate than they are in making a good toy. Even BW suffers from this (I would rather sacrifice some show accuracy to have fur pattern sculpted in. Then there's the LioConvoy fiasco).
They are also now ridiculously overpriced, generally costing nearly double than their 3P counterparts, while managing to not look nearly as good. One could argue that their "model accuracy" need for vehicles requires a license, but that's shown to be just not true when looking at the equally absurdly expensive BWMPs.
And their hyperfocus on cartoon accuracy even fails, as their vehicle modes simply... Aren't. And they're more than willing to drop it in order to objectify Arcee, because someone got way too horny for robots.

Can't disagree, but I've gone for Arcee as she'll complement Hot Rod. But after that, Jazz and maybe a Cliffjumper remold of the last Bee will do it for me.
Other than that it's JX Tiger Hawk.

Balance paid. There's a lot riding on this figure. It could prove to be the last MP I buy.

It's good. Well done TakTom. Getting backpack folded up is a faff, but not unexpected. Hip joint engineering is clever. Minor risk of paint chipping on panel at front of bonnet, but other than that seem safe to handle and TF. Reports for QC on TFW2005 seem promising. Oddly it has a butt crack and an unfortunate screw placement
