Unboxed him tonight. Rather nice, liking this more than last year's commander Jetfire. Only really played with shuttle & crawler, the two combined and the base modes so far, not gone near the animals yet save for extending the neck on the bird...... Instead of a battlemaster or micromaster, they still could have hollowed out that cargo bay and given him a space telescope that can break apart as a weaponizer cannon. ..... The cargo bay is filled in in order to accommodate the channel for the beast's neck to lie in in shuttle mode. A shame. But I can see why they've done it. Being able to put MM in the cargo bay and in the cockpit would have been nice. The points for securing the wings to the body in shuttle mode are not that secure! Base mode is nice, enjoying that, some fun to be had there. Hints that perhaps the crawler is meant to be something else upside down, with moulded treads projecting upwards, plus a convincing tower mode from the base makes me think there's a bit more going on here. Well worth a look, will have him out Saturday night. |

The distribution for Sky Lynx is interesting. While ID and Kapow have had him, other specialist toy retailers like Star haven't. There seems to be a staggered release with Smyths saying July and Amazon September. Amazon's dates both sides of the pond seem to always be the furthest out. I'm assuming from the price that ID and Kapow are getting UK stock from Hasbro UK, so I'm wondering if they have some kind of preferential treatment being the biggest online Transformers specialists.

I impulse bought a random Combiners Wars one from TK B&M and it looked LUDICROUS!
It's an awful looking design, which doesn't even qualify for the 'it looks alien' camp, because it looks so silly.
