Cheetor looks really unimpressive in that packaging, compared to the Kingdom version. If I didn't know about the differences between the two versions I think I'd probably end up leaving this one on the shelf. As it is, I'll be getting Netflix Cheetor when it becomes available, but not based on the box.

As far as I can recall, yes. Except now no, it's just Megatron. But now I've pre-ordered Transmutate I don't know if I need that purple Paleotrex. I guess I'll see what the Megatron looks like. (It'll look like every other Megatron but with a *slightly* different paint job, with differences only discernible to the trained eye.)

Surely they'd be missing a trick not to do a Purple Megatron Tank with the clear purple Paleotrex? Alas yesterday's reveal confirming that Rusticon is a fake name probably also puts paid to the name Crystalux for the purple Paleotrex. But he will always be Chris Deluxe in our hearts. |

LOVING Netflix Deep Cover. There's so many spots it manages to hit. A new Lambo colour scheme that's decent and a background bot from the cartoon are good to start with but it's also effectively G2 Deep Cover using the same trick as Sideswipe swapping the colours for hands & head with the colour for the bodywork. The colours are also not that far off G2 Gobot Sideswipe either. And, given Gobot Optimus Prime, it's also effectively what a Gobot Magne Convoy would look like! My only slight gripes are the battle damage, hopefully a clean one can come from somewhere down the line, and that he's missing the gun. We know the gun & launcher are on the same sprue as the wheels and the missile is with the bodywork from how they change with the various versions of the toy Hopefully Hasbro have saved up all the discarded gun, launchers and missiles and will get them to us down the line. I'd be interested to know how the maths works out there on the extra cost of the weapons vs binning them. |

As I passed on this the first time they did it, I have an easier time justifying it for purple Paleotrex, than I would otherwise.
Though, I assumed it would be Earthrise Megatron with a shiny silver deco, originally. And I assumed that would be insanely close to "too same" territory for all but completionists. I didn't think they'd be stupid enough to what amounts to a repackaging of the exact same toy they already did (which is still shelfwarming), at a higher price.

Thats more than cheeky, the box clearly says leader class toy and fossilizer. When thats the only information buyers have about whats inside they better get a leader class toy and fossilizer or its proper false advertising. And even putting that aside, as Smyths at least are showing the contents and arent saying its leader class, Thats still a £24 voyager plus £18 deluxe fossilizer. £21 for playdoh and a couple of extra parts. Nope. |

Well that's pretty much what I was expecting from that spoiler box, and yep, it's incredibly lazy. I had said previously that I might pick it up anyway since I don't yet have a Siege Megatron, but not for that price I won't. And since I have the G2 ER Megatron I've got an idea of what the mold might be like anyway, so I'm not really that fussed. Yes, I'm going to miss out on Deluxe Christopher now, but it's really not worth it at that price. I'd say I'll wait for a sale, but in these times of Covid that'll be never...

The Netflix Megs is worth getting as the paint job is astounding (and is not the same mould as ER) but that is already available at a somewhat cheaper price and comes with two Battlemasters! I'm astounded it's being put again as a 'surprise' toy in a spoiler box!!!

W3 Deluxe en route from Robotkingdom. Can't remember the last time the pound was that good!
I'd love to know what the maths is like on the Lambo mould as regards putting an extra part in the package vs throwing it away. Deep Cover is missing the gun his Selects version is! The retail versions have all been Gun (Red Alert) or Launcher & Missile (Sideswipe) There's enough examples of the toys out there now that I'm pretty sure the launcher & gun are on the same sprue as the wheels (both always cast in black) and the missile on the same sprue as the bodywork (both cast in the same colour)
So for each retail release some parts must be going in the bin!
I do hope that SOMEWHERE they've kept all the discarded bits for a future Battlepack - I could do with extra guns.... and the correct coloured missiles from Red Alert to swap with Sideswipe!
Personally I wish they'd cast gun & missile on the same sprue as the legs as per the original toy then we could have had white guns & missiles for everyone and only Red Alert's would have been wrong!
