The doors didn't close with him inside and he didn't have to face the possibility he'd be trapped in there for ages with that smell between floors. |

What the hell are you people talking about See what you miss out on not joining us for meetings! This is a lift near New St station. I can't recall who found it first but it provides a useful short cut from New St to the lower levels of central Brum where there are some decentish hotels and the Triad Karaoke bar. Unfortunately said lift leads a double life as an unofficial public convenience. We have NEVER smelt anything quite like that lift. Even the memory of the smell clears the nostrils! and why are you trying to make poor Blueshift ride in a piss-lift? Because he hadn't. |

Phil used to fear lifts, thanks to a "trapped between floors and the doors opening" incident in the old Bentalls store in Kingston in the late 70s/early 80s. However mid teens, when the legs started to have trouble, I was forced to revise my opinion. The advent of glass sided lifts in the new Bentalls store helped a lot. |

The scary thing is on one of our trips to Brum. The piss lift was used on the one day and it was AN EXPERIENCE, and the next day we checked - it was clean and smelled like it had been cleaned.
It's russian roulette...
