There were tweeks made. His windows are now tinted, and he isn't this underwhelmingly cartoonishly red.The production model looks a lot better in hand than the one in these pictures.

Inferno is very much in line with Earthrise.
-Hearing the announcement: Nothing surprising. He was guarenteed. The only surprise is it took this long.
-See the pictures: Yep! That sure is Inferno alright. It's exactly what you'd expect an exact Inferno update to be. No surprise here.
-In hand: he's exactly what he looks like you'd expect him to be. But boy gosh is he a fun fiddle toy! He's exactly as youcd expect him to be, and exactly what you want him to be.

Gah! The flatness of the cab pisses me off so much. I dont care if its realistic or not, it just looks dumb on a toy that looks so much like the original. So close to perfect, but ends up looking silly. Far too much of a running theme over the last few years.

So between g1 inferno and bw dinobot, naturally it's dinobot I'm super excited for.
So Hasbro sends an email that both these guys are expected early. A few days later, I'm charged for one voyager. I figure out it's inferno. The next night Icm charged for dinobot.
The next day, Inferno's in the mail. The NEXT day, Dinobot is. Inferno is practically rushed to me almost overnight. I got him yesterday, with Dinobot due today. Except Dinobot hasn't budged since wednesday, and is still in the carrier facility in georgia.
Because of course it's the one who only exists to fill a hole that was filled some time ago that's hurried to me, instead of the one that I've wanted forever.

Is a Velociraptor faster than a fire engine? Genuine question.
|
|
|
Post by Toph on Mar 19, 2021 23:37:32 GMT
Velociraptors were very small bipeds, so no. It's impossible to know how fast an extinct animal was, because we'll never have all the facts.
I'm not sure how fast they're thought to be, because wikipedia doesn't deal with guesstimates, and it's really hard to find other sources that aren't pop culture based for this one. But they likely were not faster than an equally sized dog. Roadrunners are significantly smaller than velociraptors, but built similarly. They can run 15-20mph. So my best guesstimate is... 20-25mph?

However, Dinobot is not a velociraptor any more than Inferno is an actual fire engine.
So it wouldn't be unreasonable to say a robot in disguise like Dinobot (who's the size of a very large Utahraptor) could run 80-100mph, any more than it would be unreasonable to say Inferno could hit 150mph (which a real fire engine could not do)

Thanks Toph - I knew you'd have the info. If JP style Velociraptors attack, it's straight to the fire engine. I guess the decider could also be to see which package gets to you in the shortest amount of time.
Thinking now of the mock nature programme on fire trucks from Family Guy.

As I have said before, any Fossilers sent to me would go straight to the charity shop, unopened. I can't even look at images of them. Too frightening.

Okay really weird thing. The awesome kind of weird. Despite being pronated, Dinobot's weird limp broken looking wrists are actually WAY MORE ACCURATE than you'd think!
It's believed that dromaeosaurids folded their arms almost exactly like wings. Dinobot can do this! Not only that, it looks way better and more natural than the way the instructions show.

Okay so early this morning I got a text that fedex wouldn't deliver Dinobot until monday. At few hours later when I wasn't paying attention, he's on my porch.
His transformation is complex, but not difficult. It's clever. Clever lad. And the surprise is his beast mode looks a lot better in hand, than in pictures. I mean, it's not perfect like Cheetor, but it's better than the original and universe. My big nitpick is honestly his beast mode eyes. His weirdly colored sword is still weirdly colored, but it's no longer pink. Now it's a lavender purple, that's still a really weird choice, but it doesn't clash as badly as the tip of his tail. In beast mode, he's meant to be viewed from the side. His profile is almost exactly like the early Jurassic Park promotional raptor art.
Gorgeous robot mode.
Dinobot is not perfect, but he's about as good as it could get for him.
In hand, I hope Grimlock will get a different head.

With Galvatron leaked, and Rodimus shown earlier, what do we have left in Kingdom (regular line) that we know about that's yet to be shown?
· The Ark · Rhinox · Tigatron · Waspinator · Shadow Panther (i still can't get over that this guy is retail and not selects) · Wingfinger · the croc fossilizer · Tracks
Aside from the repackaged Wheeljack, I'm struggling to think of anything else, but I know there's a couple G1s. Is Pipes "confirmed," or just speculation? Is he kingdom or selects?

I've given Galvatron his own thread: tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/11324I know they'll be a good few more images yet and this one will be popular so it made sense to do it earlier rather than later.

Opened all 3 new w2 Deluxe yesterday. All three are Very Good, Huffer and Airazor superb. Both had a couple of moments of fun mid TF.
I tried doing Ractonite on the call last night and had to go looking for help: I'd stuck the head on the wrong end of the body!
W1 was OK but these are all better I think.
