Paddles the soft toy penguin helped me as all my planned scenarios were thwarted by virus lockdowns! As someone whose own proposal plans were repeatedly and unknowingly thwarted by the person who didn't know he was going to be making them, I am keen to know details of this. :-) And congratulations!

Jen has allergies to most metals so I went hunting for a plastic ring as a temp susbstitute. A toy ring. Could I find one? Could I bugger! Not even Amazon could find me one.
So then I thought I would go ahead anyway at Gorgie Farm last weekend, but the cafe closing threw me. Then I thought I'd nip in to a toy shop the next day. No toy rings, which threw me off again. So I then planned to do it over a meal the following weekend, but then the Chaos Bugger closed everywhere suitable for a few months. So in the end I just thought I would pop the question last night at home, aided by Paddles the soft toy penguin for courage. When you know, you know.
When things in the real world settle down sometime in the summer, we'll get her sorted with a proper non-allergenic ring and a meal and a gathering and all that business.

Now that this has happened we must surely move on to the practicalities of who gets his robots when he obviously has to downsize upon marriage.
Ralph, to help us out here please provide a complete list.
Other practical matters will surely involve arranging for Shockprowl's house to become sanctified and obtain a marriage licence so he can't get out of coming to the Hub Wedding of the Century. In fact I think Shockprowl should probably get ordained so he can conduct the wedding itself!

Today I panic-bought a fourth carton of Bird's Eye brandy sauce.
Spent most of the rest of the day getting into the working-from-home groove.

Checked at 5pm when leaving work that the MMU Library was still operating. Stated intention in today's update was to keep 24/7 access. I got there one hour later and external borrower access was turned off and staff had just been informed to shut the place at 7pm tomorrow and work from home. Fair enough. Amazed it stayed open this long. Wished the staff good luck.
Just need to sort a chair and the temp home office can be set up for OU. Got an essay due. I find it very hard to work at home but will have to adapt. 30 mins ago got told the end of module June exam is cancelled and there will be alternative assessment. Probably another essay but hey, will still get to complete the module.
Still no plan at work for...anything. I proceed on the assumption I am paid on the 27th and we'll see what hours are available after that. Job hunting has had to be put on hold, for obvious reasons.
Typing currently a problem due to mystery injury to my good hand.

Just need to sort a chair and the temp home office can be set up for OU. We've all got to have sensible desks and chairs in order to work from home, but you can bet half the time we'll be working lying on our beds with laptops on tummies. Martin

So many things are still unclear and ill-defined, but today brought the news that 'schools to close' does not mean 'schools to close'. It actually means, 'schools will stay open, including the Easter holidays, to a wide variety of different categories of children'. This has translated to, 'all staff to be in as usual'. Sooo... no lie ins for me at the moment. Work as usual on Monday. Same for Mrs P at her place.
Went to Sainsbury's on the way home tonight to get some milk. Fuck me, it's desolate. Empty. You could film a post apocalypse movie in there and not have to do anything to it. Err...
