And to be fair, the other three with beards are also women, and I have to say you're the least masculine of the four.

Andu says his zoom is occupied with TFN stuff today, as I suspect a few people are.
But I'm willing to run something from 6pm for a few hours if anyone wants a chat

Two of today's parcels were Zoom call related purchases so I thought I ought to log them here - the conversation a few weeks back about film novelisations gave me a sudden hankering to reacquire the Star Wars ones. Just Jedi to go now. These are first UK print editions. They look unread; the spines aren't cracked and the photo pages are safely intact and not falling out.

I've got the Star Wars one somewhere in the house...

I know I have those, I've got all the film novelisations still kicking around I think. Don't know if they're first editions though. 'From the journal of the Whills' isn't it?
That first novelisation has got so many neat little ideas around it.

That was why I suddenly wanted to read it again (again? I'm not sure if I ever have read them, but I did own them at some point). I remember the Journal of the Whills bit from being a kid. I think I've decided Star Wars ended in 1983 and I'm suddenly interested in reading more of the fiction around it prior to the expanded universe explosion.

Star Wars did not end until Ewoks: Battle for Endor came out.

That's fair enough.
Mind you, Return of the Jedi Weekly finished a year later than that in 1986, so I think that should be the cut off.

So it is decided. Star Wars ended in 1986. That gives a neat ten year bracket to focus on fiction reading.
Although that does meaning saying a big NO to Dark Empire and the Thrawn trilogy. That's not easy.

They really represent a different era. The period of: 'The movie series is over so we can do what we like'.

So who else spotted what Spence did to the ToyFu package picture? Revealing it to Burns was a highlight of the evening. That and him hunting for his trousers.....
