Looked at clippers online. Sold out. -Ralph Next time you are at Asda look at their electrical goods section. It's where I got mine. I shall have a look week of the 18th when I do the next Big Shop. -Ralph

No wonder Joy has been at the hospital for three hours now instead of the usual 20 mins. I blame YOU!

How does this relate to my beard loss?

I'm at the stage where I may need to do something about the hair fairly soon. We are into full "Gidget Flicks" territory here, and it really isn't a look which suits me...
Managing to keep myself nice and clean-shaven though. I don't look good with stubble at all...

I used to like a beard, but mine's so grey these days it makes me look even older than I am so it gets short shrift.

Mine is developing a silver streak down the center. Is distinguished.

My stubble was the first thing to go obviously grey - started in my 30s, and it is now a mix of grey and white. It took another ten years for me to get a significant amount of grey in my head hair - most of which is concentrated in my sideburns/flicks.
It looks like I will manage to keep my hair long enough to develop the silver-white that my mother's side go, but I'm not going to have the full head of silver-white curls that my uncle was rocking for many years. Ah well, at least my fringe is still out of my eye-line. My sister has had to trim hers twice since she went into lockdown! (She expressed genes from the paternal side when it comes to the physical side of things - so she's less prone to grey, and her hair is much straighter but grows much quicker).

My head hair seems fine. Never noticed any grey in it. But then my father and grandfather didn't go grey until they were at least in their sixties so I might be alright for a bit.

I started going grey when I was 17! Though it has accelerated in the last few years.

Exactly. A butterfly flaps its wings in Kuala Lumpur and Ralph shaves.

The butterfly's nothing. You want a word with that flamingo in Abu Dhabi that makes you put another pair of socks on every time it scratches.

Taking a closer look at the beard today reveals I have three different colours in it.
Mostly brown, with a ginger moustache silver sprinkled throughout.
It may be time for it to go, however. It's interfering with my food.

Went looking for a clipper set this week to sort my hair. Cheapest I could find so far was £28.99 from Boots - a bit steep for something I am hoping to only need to use three times! I will wait a little longer.

How much is your haircut normally? That would work out the same for 3 cuts here.

Yep. Same here.
I plan on getting some clippers when I do the big shop on Monday. Round about £30 is the going rate for a set and I'll probably use them at least 3 times. I don't see myself rushing to a barber even if they opened up soon.
