Okay so Cheetor's inclusion changes my entire opinion of the RED line. Just a show of faith that this isn't a 100% massively underdetailed sunbow worship line.

I should be excited by this but for some reason I'm not and I can't work out why. Perhaps because the recent generations figures have looked so good, these feel superfluous. However I do love the cartoon, so some screen accurate figures wouldn't go amiss.

Ah, that solves the Cheetor mystery then. I'm told it's a different Cheetor!

This should indeed have been the BLACK series - Basically Loadsa Articulation, Cannot Konvert! (Look, if MASK can get away with it...)
But yeah, as Pinwig says, these feel superfluous. The original appeal of Action Masters was that they were close to their animation designs, and had fun, wee little partners. Modern figures have been hewing ever closer to the animation designs whilst also increasing their articulation, and have also retained their ability to Transform. So it's difficult for me to find any appeal in these.
As Ralph points out though, there are many other lines of transforming figures, and some folk may not be fussed with alt-modes, so that's great for them. And if nothing else, they seem much better value for money than the ReAction figures.
The big disappointment really is that they bring nothing new to the table. There are so many other lines doing Sunbow-esque designs that they could've done something fresh and different. But they didn't. And sure, it's not like rehashing very similar designs but with incremental improvements isn't basically how the Star Wars line functions, but even so, I would have liked to have seen something a little different.

You wait years for an Arcee and four turn up in one year! Hurrah! And not one will make it to UK retail Hurrarse.

Why must they take our jaded cynicism?!? It's all some of us have left! But I guess on the plus side this'll guve us an Arcee without a ridiculousy-oversized backpack, so...

Will ASDA get them? Or Smyths, since they had Wal*Marts Netflix?

Asdaland hasn't carried anything other than Bot Bots and some Cyberverse for years. No chance these will end up there.

If we don't get pretenders out of this, then this line is without merit.

I read somewhere that the Arcee is the version from transformers: Prime.

Pretender shells, beast wars, beast machines, the impossible MTMTE/Lost Light designs, movie designs, ugly arse impossible WfC/FoC, non-toy Sunbow characters. There's a ton of stuff for this line that isn't the same things we're getting everywhere else. That doesn't even get into actually designing figures after specific artists, like Geoff Senior, and Guido Guidi. If wave one doesn't lean 100% into Sunbow aesthetics, and they mix it up, it would be a nice show of faith. If Wave 1 looks like this: Sunbow G1 Optimus MTMTE Rodimus Bumblebee Bumblebee Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron Sunbow G1 Alpha Trion Marvel G1 Bludgeon Then it would show right off the bat what this line can achieve. And like any other similar action figure lines like (mattel) DC Multiverse and Marvel Legends, having future waves heavily themed to a particular segment would make those waves much easier to swallow.

Not that I particularly want more TFP, but if that's true it'll make me almost as happy as Cheetor.

Hmmm. I balked at Super 7's Reaction figures when I saw them for £19 (!) in comic shops so I never bought any as they looked cheap. RED figures are one pound more, have the same asthetic but look better and have more articulation. It's a tough choice.

I am reminded of Robot Replicas, one of the forgotten TF Lines. I wonder if similar Movie figures will show up in RED.

Soundwave looks nice. Might get that one just to have a fiddle with one and see what they're like, but buying into this heavily just seems like duplicating what I've got in Generations.

As did I. It's a line I have wanted for many years. I am hoping they are like Mega SCF's but with nice plastic rather than rubbery. -Ralph
