I was just updating all my lists to try and get a sense of perspective given it feels like we're getting new toy preorders arriving on an hourly basis at the moment. It isn't as bad as it seems, the difference to last year is that they're coming spread out rather than in that Exclusive Apocalypse we had.
In terms of exclusives announced last year there were 49 figures across 28 releases if you include the Takara ones like Star Convoy and the Seacons. This year so far we've had 37 figures across 22 releases not including the TTMall Ratchet/Skywarp sets but including Thrust & Bluestreak (neither of these totals include netflix). So even if you take off a set like the MM ten pack because it skews things a bit, that's still way more releases last year than this. Obviously this year isn't done yet, we've got a few more selects to come, but it made me realise that actually, there isn't quite the madness going on that it looks like.

i agree pin, it feels like ive spent shit loads more this year, but i think ive been preordering 2-3 a week in the releases rather than spread out over a year!!

It's felt more mad to me because with exclusives being spread out I've been able to afford more (and been more available when pre-orders go up due to furlough). Whereas last year's Exclusive Apocalypse was concentrated so couldn't grab as much. So less exclusives being released this year but I have probably spent more.

I think someone deleted the Exclusive Apocalypse thread because I couldn't find it last night. I wanted to make this very point. It seems like they listened to the criticism of dropping everything they had in like... A week. Because it's been really steady one or two at a time, each week.

I'm not sure how much of that is an active choice as opposed to knowing there are no big events to centre them round. Had SDCC been as usual I'm sure a lot of the exclusives would have been more clustered.

They have a second one coming - 8th Sept, see above - but have managed to spoil the other reveals by minutes putting the orders up slightly early.

Because the pandemic is so out of control here, that it's not going to be close to under control anytime soon. Even if shitler doesn't steal this election, we'll have a death toll over 200k by election day, and minimum 250k by the time Biden would be sworn in.
If he hits the ground running, we'll likely have a national shelter in place order in effect the next day, for who knows how long. We will be very lucky to get out of this now with a death toll under 1m, because quite a few estimate a few million. So yeah, as of now, don't expect any US cons for 2021.

Thank you. I'm alright though, mostly. I only go out to go shopping once a week (which is why Target exclusives have been even more vexing than usual). And I try to get there around when Walmart opens. Beyond that, I don't have any contact with anyone.

For 'US and Canada only' adds the text description to the video on FB. Thus my interest did not begin. It leaves a salty taste on the back of Ratchetgate.

That's alright then. We've had several indications that the pit will be sold through retailers in the UK. The con date might give us an idea when to expect the preorder though
