I believe a Devon Cream Tea is one way and a Cornish the other. I can't recall which is which.

The only correct way for scones is this:
Clotted cream then strawberry jam.

Jam then cream is like putting on marmalade and then butter. Martin I see what you're saying, but cream is used as a finish on top of a lot of things. You don't put cream in a bowl and put your Apple pie on top of it. Cream is a finish on top of a jam scone.

The cream has to be first. There's usually slightly more cream than jam, so if the jam goes on first, it's smothered, you wouldn't see it. It's just... poor construction.
That's how GI Joe do it.
And Delta Force.

You don't put cream in a bowl and put your Apple pie on top of it. Cream is a finish on top of a jam scone. Negative. The Jam is the extra finish, the extra topping- on the topping! Toppings: The Next Generation. Toppings: The Next Dimension. FINISHING OFF THE FINISH! A blob of jam -under- the cream, CANNOT BE SEEN....!
