The odd thing is, despite this one's flaws, it does stand up quite well next to the Make Toys mold, which many reckon to be the best MP jet mould presently.

We all complain about pricing, but taking inflation into account and the exchange rate changes, is this actually that much more expensive than the original?

Alrighty. The last issue of Starscream was £125 at Kapow and that was 2013. Using an inflation calculator, that equates to £144 today. The pound is weaker against the yen today (137 compared to 152) but I don't know what the Yen retail price was/is to compare.

I was thinking the original MP3 in 2006, inflation since then is probably ~45%, and Yen was about 195:1 on the pound or something. Wasn't it £70 or so?

I been trying to find a price, with no luck.
As great as our fandom is about documentation, we do suck at documenting prices and bios.
I do remember the original MP-10 release at TRU was $110. I remember the original MP-1 never cost ocer $100 stateside. I remember the japanese ultimate edition with the trailer was in the ballpark of $160 (i think).
I think the walmart MP-3 version of Skywarp was $80.

So, assuming my memory of Skywarp is close to accurate, then according to usinflationcalculator.com, $80 in 2007, adjusted for inflation at 25.4%, is $100 in 2020.
Edit:
I got the wrong year. The new calculation of 2009, has him at $97.
Assuming my memory of his original price is correct.

Checked my old emails - I paid 9310Y at HLJ for MP3, which was probably early bird discount from 10,000. Looks like HLJ after MP52 at 20,000.
But then I checked Japanese inflation rates instead of UK and the results are that 1Y today is pretty much what it was back in 2006. So, well, I take it all back... MP52 is double the cost of MP3!
