It's less important to me than it used to be, I find. Soundwave broke the all scale mindset. But SS is built around scale, SS Jazz (not the 86 one) is tiny! In discussing Studio Series, scale has to come into the discussion.

There are lots more figures they can do in SS86 as well as Blaster, Perceptor and Co mentioned, we have Blitzwing, Insecticons, Coronation Starcream, proper Kranix, proper Quintesson Prosecutor (please!), more Junkions with that good coffee flavour for you and Brawn.

Yes, when SS started Hasbro made a point of saying one of its purposes was to deliver robot modes that were consistent with the height of the characters on screen. That then bled over into Generations when Siege started.
I really like it, the one issue I had with TR was that within the size classes the robots were almost identical in shape and size. The only time I worry about scale is with robot modes that are established in media as having a height related to others, so although TR Blaster is just as big as the G1 version, he really doesn't work with Earthrise Soundwave.

Hmmmm, yes, I have a great imagination when I'm re-living the battle on the Dam with MP-10 and little tiny Legends Megatron. That really works.
NOT!

It's easy. You just hold one in each hand and wave them around while making beep-beep noises.

ILLEGAL NOISES!
Megatron's fusion canon does not go 'beep beep'!

No - the beep beeps would surely be the robot's talking to one another as they battle.

Yes, there is precident of them -eventually- completing groups across different lines. It's gonna take forever... Provided they can resist the urge to go back and start again with Grimlock before they do. Which they won't be able to.

There are certainly other possibilities, and the Bayverse Studio Series figures have shown that they're not averse to putting some obscure characters into the line if it means they get a cheap mold reuse (I'm looking at you, KSI Sentry, and so forth). Certainly there's some easy mold re-use with the Junkions, but I'm not sure about any of the others (aside from Starscream, of course) - but that doesn't mean that it's not beyond Hasbro's abilities to somehow find a way...

I woyld prefer it though, to have had all the main movie cast stars (including Cyclonus, Magnus, Galvatron, Arcee, Springer etc) in SS86. I don't know why, as I'd display them opened anyway, but just for uniformity. Im sure a lot of SS only collectors would like the entire main cast boxes to match and have the key players from each movie. There is also the backdrops and maybe it's just seeing that 1986 movie logo on the packaging.

Now you've done it. Wave 2 will be 'movie accurate' repaints of all the figures that have come out in Generations.

Just as a quick question, has anyone else whose ordered Hot Rod had any update on when he's dropping? I've not really seen anyone with him yet, and the rest seem to have all arrived now.
Oh, wait, no Scourge yet either, is there...

Hot Rod is amazing.
Arrived yesterday and I can honestly say I doubt they will be able to top him. Far and away a better take than either MP version as well.
Belter!

As much as I'm looking forward to getting Hot Rod and Scourge, I am quietlty annoyed at (if I understand why) Pulse dropping these instantly while months old preorders are yet to be fulfilled!
Happy to wait and support the smaller business, but sneaky sneaky Hasbro!

Still waiting for ID toys to get Scourge in too. I hope they do. Is there some sort of delay on the Voyagers?

Post by Pinwig on Mar 14, 2021 11:37:43 GMT
There does seem to be. The sellers were saying a few weeks ago that the Voyagers would be behind the deluxes by a few weeks, and having had a look around myself this morning after Andy's post, it seems while Hot Rod is beginning to come out now, Scourge is still behind. Smyths have Hot Rod down as imminent and Scourge a month away.

As far as I can tell, all the Hot Rods and Scourges are coming from the recent grand opening of Pulse UK.
