Morning All - It's Monday!
Sunday: a very good day: body head and sinuses all did OK :-)
Sunday night: dreadful. Trouble getting off, sinuses played up, kept waking up...... UGH, not fun.
Today: oh it's a big one today. Liz's day off, yes, but the real big event is letting someone over the doorstep tonight to replace a dripping tap that I'm *really* surprised lasted this long! It's someone we know so we're pretty safe anyway and will stay well out of their way while they're here. In for a penny, in for a pound, Liz is going in a shop this morning too! So a MASSIVE head stretch for me so pray we stay safe and my head copes!
Have a good day and stay safe out there.

Hope it all goes smoothly, Phil.
Dad returns home to Bristol after breakfast. And then... haircut time!

Today's home haircut did not go well. We are close to 2 of the top 10 areas for Covid (Oldham and Rochdale) so not risking going to a barbers.

Judging from this morning, barbers' jobs are safe. All the usual staff back in place (with masks), glad to be back, and fully booked until Friday. Prices gone up from ÂŁ11 to ÂŁ15 but that's fair enough, and they're getting lots of ÂŁ5 tips.
It was possible for a couple of people to wait inside the shop (one to a bench), but I chose to wait outside until called in by name. In and out in ten minutes. They remembered how I liked it done.

I have looked through the windows of local barbers of late. None of them are wearing masks or shields! People packed in like sardines. Social distancing broke down a while ago round here.
A lot of bus drivers not wearing masks either.

Seen too many trains, trams and buses around here with mostly unmasked folk to even think going back to the office is a good idea.

So Liz went to "B&M". Except it wasn't B&M it was Home Bargains. And she didn't just get Marg, she got a whole bag of stuff..... and then did the same thing in Iceland!
Both deserted at the time.

Work have said we will be working as is until the new year so no real danger of public transport for me.

The strong impression we have is that we won't be back in our office this side of Christmas either.

Couple of months ago got sudden chest pain which was eventually diagnosed as a pulled intercostal chest muscle. Exercised less and it greatly improved. Barely a twinge in the last 3 weeks. I'd almost forgotten about it.
Went out to get milk and almost collapsed when I got back in with the pain. Talking and breathing is currently sore. Communicating with Jen via text and can't move without mind-staggering pain. I'll be indoors for a few days now! No excursions until Thursday morning when I have a pre-arranged Dr Quack appointment for other matters.
I am sure I will look back on this and laugh, just not right now. Very frustrating!

If breathing is painful get to A&E now or call 111 or go straight to the Walk In at the hospital. Can't think why this problem would suddenly reoccur so acutely.

I would second getting some more urgent help, especially when breathing difficulties are involved.
I don’t want to worry you but when I had my PE it was misdiagnosed as something benign by my GP a week before it almost did for me.

It's just the muscle being pulled again. These injuries can take months to heal and I've probably overdid it with exercise and my body will be overtaxed with stress of lockdown/job and other health issues so not as fit as normal. I have a GP appt on Thursday for other rather more serious matters anyway. The local walk-in centre is useless. A&E checked not long ago and there's nothing else wrong there.
The intercostal muscle problem was diagnosed after two previous wrong diagnosis!
Applying ice has helped a lot and I can breathe properly again.

Morning All!
Tuesday.
Monday.... That was a fun ride. Liz popped out to the shop first thing for a tub of marge. She came back having been in two different shops with two large bags of shopping but reported it ever so quiet out there. Comforting to know we can do that if necessary in future. Morning was OK, if a little wearing. Having had a slightly rough night I was ready for a sleep by the time I got into bed at 2..... What I wasn't ready for was sleeping till 5 to 6, obviously needed it!
Coped OK with the visitor to fix the tap while here was here - was nice to have someone else in the house and to have a conversation albeit at a distance - but wobbled after they left: my own fault, shouldn't have read an article on asymptomatic carriers while they were here working. Took me three hours to go back upstairs afterwards.
After having slept so long in the afternoon it was no surprise when I struggled to get off last night. Unfortunatey I then woke up c2:30 with stomach pains - a few suspects from late in the day - and spent a while getting back off.
Tuesday: quiet day planned, zoom prayer meeting at 8pm in addition to the daily morning one.
Pray the Sinuses and body continue to cooperate on Tuesday, the tummy improves and we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Accepted a job today. I was officially unemployed for around 2 business days. That is certainly a confidence booster after being made redundant!

Morning All!
It's Wednesday!
Tuesday quiet and uneventful. Following the oversleep Monday afternoon an alarm got me up after only two hours. Could have slept all afternoon though! Decent night's sleep followed.
Today.... Zoom Homegroup tonight is the highlight. Mainly quiet again!
Please pray the day does stay quiet, the sinuses and CMT behave and that we stay protected from the virus.

Intercostal pulls are notoriously painful, take ages to improve, and are so easily re-pulled. They're so annoying because they affect everything one does. I've had similar injuries myself, and infarct think I have one at the moment! Doesn't sound a tenth as bad as yours though, all the DIY. Good old fashioned remedies like ice are a great idea. Roll out stronger stuff if you need it. It'll get there!

Oh, I know it will. Of all my health problems this is the one I am by far the least worried about as I know it will improve in time. Just need to take shorter, slower-paced walks when I am able, and so on. I am moving next month and need to be able to lift things.
Being cooped up due to the pull is what affects my mental health somewhat more.
I don't want to go back to my old job but I'll have to now when I am recalled. With little to do, every bit of pain from various things is magnified and I keep having to ask Jen what day/date it is as I am increasingly confused with no routine or purpose.

Balls! What I thought was a 1-1 GP appt is just over the telephone, which is no use as I need something physically looked at. I'll have to use the phone call to persuade for a 1-1 again for some time next week. Getting health care during a pandemic is...problematic.

Morning All!
Thursday - Nope, still not got the hang of them.
Wednesday went well, Sinuses and CMT co-operated, head was fine with a slight wobble later on.
Today: food in, bins out.
Pray head, sinuses and CMT continue to be OK Thursday and we stay protected from the virus.
Hope you're all safe & well out there!

Turns out my stools are fine.
Deeply unhelpful Dr Quack call. I'm done with that practice. Will get second opinion when I register with new practice when the house move is done. Physio call booked for the 3rd. It annoys me having to pay for decent health care.
In other news, late tomorrow afternoon Ralph gets to go to a toy shop for the first time since the 20th of March!!!!

i feel you, Ralph. I had a phone consultation last week about my knee which needed looking at. GP wouldn't come to me because I'm not bedbound, but wouldn't accept that I couldn't travel to them on zero notice (cuz I couldn't even walk to the entrance to my building without being in so much pain I was screaming, much less get to a taxi or bus) and that travel wasn't advisable because I'm in the shielding group.
I've basically been advised to take codeine and paracetamol four times a day until I can walk and see them in person.
Which means they'll see me for the problem that stops me walking when I can walk.
Sigh.

Morning All!
It's Friday!
Thursday wore me down. Nothing major, nothing really health related, just lots of things going on in the morning. Was physically tired by lunch time and, though a sleep in the afternoon helped, shattered by early evening with tiredness bringing my head down with it.
Friday: going to have to do a bit to top last Friday but we'll give it a try. It's quite busy with Fish and Chips for lunch and a TF Product announcement this afternoon.... some of which I see has leaked already!
Pray the CMT, Sinuses and Mind do OK today and we stay protected from the virus.
Hope you're all safe and well out there!

Didn't have a good night last night after getting more and more angry at being dismissed by a GP and being left in pain and not knowing what is going on (again).
Wee trip out later if I feel like it.

Morning All!
This Is Saturday - Watch and Smile! (I might just alternate between acronyms for a bit)
Well Friday got a bit mad and busy: drugs arriving, tea with my drugs mule in the garden, TF leaks, announcements, preorders, speculation which led to the dismantling a nd rebuild of the rumours thread - boy has last Saturday's work paid off this week :-)
The result of that was I was quite tired by the end of the day and a bit run down, with too much hand washing cos my head wasn't OK. Sinuses played up over night and are a bit fun this morning.
Today - quiet I hope. Bit grey out which might play the CMT up. Hoping to Zoom Mum this afternoon and then it's the TMUK zoom call tonight - will my True Friend gift for one of my chums arrive in time?
Pray the head copes better today, I don't wash my hands so much, the CMT copes OK and we stay protected from the virus.
Hope you're all safe and well - have a good day!

Another bad night when the ignored-by-GP foot pain really got to me. Now I wake up with a sore knee. What the hell is going on???
Another call to GP on Monday or the walk-in centre if this persists.
