Back in the day, toys were sold with text specs/data files or with mini comics that told you about the character. It was a complete package. You could buy a toy without knowing any of the tie-in media. This also encouraged literacy. Transformers has given up on that. Not even a one-line bio on packaging any more for Generations. -Ralph Now there is Tfwiki and countless other sources. As kids are online most of the time now I don't think the bios matter. I think adult collectors outnumber kids on the WFC line definitely. Oh yeah. The way kids consume media today is very very different from when I was ickle. -Ralph |

Hasbro have tried to bridge the gap though. I liked the idea they tried with RiD where you could scan the badge on the toy with the app and unlock them in the game. That way you could get a character bio. The various apps Hasbro had going seem to have died away.

Yes, I did. I thought as an interactivity option for kids it was pretty good, even if I didn't want the actual badge on the figure itself in place of a faction symbol. It also gave us some new toy leaks!

No, it's an entirely new mould. It may have been inspired by the MP mould but it is all-new.
