Morning All!
It's Monday. Again. They keep coming round don't they?
Yesterday: all went OK. Lovely roast dinner from Jonathan, we're very proud of his cooking. Tired by evening though, even though I'd slept lots in the afternoon, and then trouble getting off at night thanks to the previous sleep & the weather.
Today: liz's day off, so I'm in charge of food. She's going to have another go at some clothes shopping this morning while Jonathan, after his recorder lesson, is going to do some heavy lifting under my direction to fit in the underbed drawer that Liz acquired last week.
Pray Liz's shopping trip goes OK. Pray the Sinuses & CMT continue to improve and the head stays together, especially over a busy day. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Foot pain remains intense despite being mostly off my feet and bed bound for the last week and no pain killers are touching it. Will try my FOURTH attempt tomorrow to see if a GP can be arsed to help. Will I be dismissed out of hand again? I really don't think I'm asking for much.

Do you have a walk in centre nearby? I've frankly found mine far more use than the service my actual surgery provides.

I tried the walk-in centre a week ago and was dismissed there too.

Could be worth trying again at some point. At least you're being seen by somebody there. Sooner or later you might get one who will help.

Yep, but it is distressing. I am effectively housebound at the moment and have no idea what is going on so my head keeps going to bad places.

Morning All!
It's Tuesday!
Yesterday: Busy. Liz's first attempt at shopping went badly as Asda didn't open when it said it did. Her second was a bit more successful food wise and she managed to get the clothes she wanted online. Jonathan and I got some jobs done in the morning - Liz had brought an underbed drawer which is now sitting against the wall in the living room and I taught J how to change lightbubs safely by isolating the lighting circuit. Was tired by lunch and headed off for sleep at 1:30.... I rolled over at 2:30 when J brought the washing in, woke up for my alarm at 3:30, rolled over and the next thing I knew it was 5:30!!
Today: Iceland delivery 8-10 this morning. Prayer meeting tonight at 8. Not sure there's much in between.
Pray Sinuses & CMT improve and the head stays together. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

The nurse I spoke to was very nice. She says it doesn't warrant an x-ray yet as it is the metatarso bone area which is not one of the areas that would show a fracture. Could be ligament damage. Recommended I restart the Naproxen as that could also help the chest and to take omeprazole.
I have been booked to have a triage call with one of the muscle skeletal specialists at 9am tomorrow. Hopefully they will be better able to identify what the problem is and what to do. My head keeps going to bad places and I worry it is arthritis now I have that in my hand (though that has been ok late). With nothing to do I keep looking up health websites and that is not helping my head.
Please send positive thoughts that it is something else.

Just got a letter from work. I am recalled on August 10th but in a different location with much less travel and only seeing one person at a time on an appointment basis. Much much better than I had hoped for. We'll see what the reality is like. I'll give it a go (presuming I can properly walk by then) as being stuck inside is getting me down and I've had to pause looking for a new job due to health issues.

The last Doctor I spoke to prior to today told me to take Gaviscon before abruptly hanging up. For foot pain when I can barely walk.
Gaviscon is for indigestion.
A prior one said it was my mental health. It really, really isn't.

No, I am one of those people who is very clearly able to be fully articulate and can describe things clearly and succinctly. Alas, I have found over the years that if you see a Doctor about pain with no visual signs 9/10 of them default to: 'it is your mental health, 'you are making it up/attention seeking' or fob me me off with something unrelated ie Gaviscon.
I saw this a lot in previous jobs (not current one) where I have attended literally hundreds of medical appts with vulnerable people. It is a big problem. I find, though, that I can spot a good medical professional pretty much instantly. I also appreciate it when they say "I don't know" but still try. Few years ago for another issue which hadn't been diagnosed yet I was seeing a young Doctor every week/fortnight about it. Eventually he explained that he just didn't know and booked me in to see a senior colleague instead who had more experience. His manner was excellent so I didn't mind. I appreciated his honesty and that he had tried.
I must admit that a majority of my medical encounters in the last 5 years have been very poor, sadly, and my trust is at rock bottom.
Gavison!

Try it.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday squished me. Something happened while the shopping was coming in, not a mistake as such more something done differently. Even I didn't make a fuss about it but I think it still tipped a domino over in my head which then.... Shattered by lunch, could have slept all afternoon but the alarm woke me properly. But by the evening's prayer meeting I was struggling physically too and some of the words weren't coming out straight. I am noticing I am feeling very very tired at the moment.
Today: quiet day. Homegroup tonight. Rolled my ankle getting out of bed this morning and the tummy Is Not Happy so not off to the best of starts physically
Pray the head does better today, I'm not as tired and the CMT & Sinuses improve. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Had the estate agent round to take photos and start the marketing of the house this week. Had enough of being in southampton for a while and, now that I have a remote job I can literally work anywhere. Went to Tivertron at the weekend househunting and found one we are very interested in, but, need to get an offer in on ours first.
It's all change around here!

This morning was me explaining my feet problem to the 5th (!) person now. This time it was an 'MSK Specialist' who talked to me properly on the phone for a full 23 minutes and had me do various movements. It looks like a load related issue on the extensor tendon at the metastarsal bone. Was asked about my walking pattern. It would seem what may have caused it was the months in lockdown where instead of the usual varying daily pattern of walking I had the same routine of the same walks at the same time for the same duration at the same elevation due to not being able to go very far or near busy areas.
Some exercises will be emailed to me later that will help. As for whether it will be better in time for work in 10 days, couldn't say.
Knee is probably a tendon issue of the same type.
Gaviscon was not mentioned.
I was then advised to book a physical 1-1 so they can manipulate the foot properly to check the assessment. This started a farce when the GP surgery refused to do it and directed me to the primary care centre who also refused to do it but after some Firm But Fair words gave me the Magic Words (BOOK FIRST CONTACT PHYSIO) I needed to persuade the GP surgery to do it. I called them back and they apologised but don't know how to do it. I accepted the apology and they said they would try to figure it out and call me back later.
The saga continues.

OK, now booked in for a face-to face tomorrow morning to explain things to the SIXTH person now (a physio). If only the first person hadn't said it was in my head, or the third person had said Gavison. Hopefully then it can be finally confirmed what the problem is (probably what I was told today, I hope) and what I need to do to improve it. I will then be in a better position to phone work next week and say whether I can or can't start back on the 10th.
I am moving house in August. I really really need my chest, knee and feet to be well enough to move things.
The saga continues.

Physio is what ya need, so heading in the right direction.
I think of all the weird muscular-skeletal aches and pains I've had, crickey, I could've ruled the world if it wasn't for the aches and pains, but good physio has sorted me out every time.
I feel sorry for the Gaviscon. I hope it doesn't feel left out.
