Counter argument. The Hardhead toy is the worst of those four and Brainstorm has only been released as a store exclusive.

I missed the earlier comparison photos, the Walmart ones blow the others out of the water.

Counter argument. The Hardhead toy is the worst of those four and Brainstorm has only been released as a store exclusive. Another counter argument Chromedome also has massive visible changes from both his TR and Legends counterparts, and is the arguably the most popular and most prominent autobot headmaster, being the star of the japanese series, and one of the most popular characters in IDW.

They might look better alongside the TR releases, but these 3 dont impress me so far.
I expect the packaging will sell me anyway.

Counter argument. The Hardhead toy is the worst of those four YMMV on that one. It is the one that's different enough in a good way to make people double dip. Meawhile the other really different one..... Brainstorm has only been released as a store exclusive. That Brainstorm is going to be trouble down the line with that face. Either shelf warming or people moaning about it Another counter argument Chromedome also has massive visible changes from both his TR and Legends counterparts, and is the arguably the most popular and most prominent autobot headmaster, being the star of the japanese series, and one of the most popular characters in IDW. All true. But is it different enough?

It's different enough that it's actually tempting me.

Yeah Chromedome is a subtle change but it makes a huge difference.

If it would expand past toys that were never in Titans Return, I would rebuy all of these just to support getting those.
Seriously. They could get all small headmasters with two new molds, four remolds, and two repaints Wave 3: · Nightbeat- New mold · Siren- Nightbeat pretool · Hosehead- New mold · Fangry- Grotusque retool
Wave 4: · Horri-Bull- Skullsmasher retool · Squeezeplay- Repugnus retool (works as a straight repaint in a pinch) · Minerva- Nightbeat repaint · Go Shooter- Siren repaint
Special Voyagers · Apeface · Snapdragon
Bang. All unique G1 headmasters are now done. And it only requires two unique new molds. That can be reused later elsewhere including at lease one decepticon retool...

Disappointed that they didn't add TR Arcee into this wave. I know that she wasn't one of the original Headmaster toys, but she was in the Rebirth, and that's all that matters! Whatever the case, the opportunity to have Headmaster Arcee in a G1 box was right there, and they didn't take it. Which also saves me money, so there's that to it, too. But still...

Well we got that one already. They could have instead done this one:

But I think the plan really was Punch/Counterpunch to fill out wave two, like originally rumored.
But I also think Amazon threw a fit about their exclusive being made into someone else's exclusive. Which is why out of the blue, it suddenly turns up in a poorly conceived Galaxy set. I also think this is why the mold has yet to turn up repainted anywhere else.

This series is clearly intended to put out the 'original 7' Headmasters in vintage style packaging (with the wrong logo) so I don't think there's anything missing. It would be good to see TR Arcee get a re-release in some form though. It was an expensive hard to get exclusive and (in my opinion) is by far the best Arcee *toy* so deserves a wider audience. I'd like more people to be able to get one.
