I would echo Ralph's thoughts. You both sound highly vulnerable. Now is not the time for either of you to mix with cases rising like they are in the south. No matter what precautions you personally take it is mutuslly extremely high risk. As Ralph points out that does mean you will also be both high up the list for vaccinations so only have to wait a little while longer.
Having not been able to see Joy's mum for many months (and only once for 10 mins at a distance since March) I can well understand the desire to see parents especially at this time of year. Even so I would still advise holding off. It isn't much longer to go.

Taken out of my hands, Thank You Lord, but that was the direction we were leaning in anyway.

Cannot wait to get to the other side of this bollocks. From 2 to 4 in the space of a week.

We all should have been in 3 since September when cases first started rising again. November's partial Lockdown produced barely a wobble in the rise in cases. The Government were warned at the time but insisted on going their own way. Rubber is hitting the road now. I suspect they were gambling on a vaccine coming through sooner somehow. Idiots.

Cannot wait to get to the other side of this bollocks. From 2 to 4 in the space of a week. We have effectively been in Tier 3 since July up here. I guess this is the Government's way out to say Manchester is no longer being classified in the top tier while still getting revenge on our Mayor. They have spent much of the last week trying to spread a narrative in the press that ministers and MPs are resisting new restrictions but they will make the bold decisions now to protect us all despite this. How heroic.

Yes, we have been under severe restrictions since last July. What happened to the North is now happening elsewhere, just somewhat more rapidly.

It's not the restrictions that worry me, more that we're clearly going backwards generally because of the selfish idiocy of people who don't seem to seem to understand getting rid of this virus isn't going to happen by magic. This morning when I went into Costa, there were people in there kicking up a fuss about not being able to sit in because 'they could last week'.
If you look at where Portsmouth is on the map, you can see that I'm in an absolutely tiny tier 4 pocket surrounded by masses of tier 3. I'm in an area not suffering because of this new virus mutation, I'm in an area suffering because of the number of fucking idiots in it.

Excitingly, I note that 'Christmas tree retailers' are regarded as an essential service and will remain open, but sadly Smyths isn't. No more Netflix Bee hunts for the foreseeable...

While the new strain is something to keep an eye on it was clearly being used by Johnson as a scapegoat to explain his u-turn today and his stubborn refusal to back down all week in the face of rising cases, hospitalisations and deaths. He is an utter tool.

Morning All!
It's Sunday, Praise The Lord.
Yesterday: Odd day. Struggled a bit with my processing, had difficulty thinking straight when there was a lot of noise or too much movement going on. The London Tier 4 announcement puts paid to our plan to go to London for Christmas.
Today: Church this morning. Christmas food shop collection this afternoon. Not sure what else.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses & CMT improve and Head copes OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.
