I know it’s such a small thing to get bothered about, but can’t they call it a toy line and not a brand? Brand makes my skin crawl.

Well, "toyline" is limiting. Not to mention there are multiple toylines existing under the "Transformers" moniker. And even if you accept all different seperate toylines and "adult collectibles" (like furai model kits and funko pops) under just "toyline," it's still limiting in a legal and advertising sense.
There are also cartoons, comics, movies, apparel, christmas ornaments, games, all existing under the "Transformers" moniker.
Announcing they're going to talk about the "Transformer Brand" and only talking about toys is more honest, than announcing they're going to talk about the "Transformer Toyline" and then talking about the new TF shoes Nike just licensed. (Made up example, of course)

I just have a deep rooted dislike of corporate speak. It's a toyline, it's a series, it's anything other than a brand, please!
I don't have a favourite brand, Hasbro.

Yeah but the way this fandom is, I can see more people throwing a fit if they said "toyline" and then spent thirty seconds promoting a new line of clothes, than I can see them complaining about it being labeled a "brand." ("Well if they weren't gonna talk about toys they shouldn't say they were going to talk about a toyline!" even if the other nineteen and a half minutes is talking about toys)
But all this is pointless and stupid to me in anyform. Corporate marketing guys i don't know or care about holding toys up to a web cam and talking incessantly and pretending we're all friends on a "zoom call" is the worst form of these "reveals" they could have taken.
Just send out pictures of the toys like you used to!
That's the problem I have. Maybe I'm just too old. I want them off my lawn.
Now excuse me while I go yell at some clouds (which was the style at the time)

Facebook, the few times they actually open, always lock me out with "must be signed in to view this". So I eventually stopped bothering.
If phil posts a facebook link, I just usually ignore the post.
