I agree with Toph; the reason why the Siege one didn't get recoloured is because the ER one will. It'll be touted as a movie prototype tie in during the film anniversary promo stuff next year.

Yup. Sunbow is God (Magnus) Sunbow Magnus has blue pants! I think it's less sunbow accuracy, and more about the limitations of their chosen mold. To give Magnus's super mode red legs, then the regular mode would inexplicably have ugly red thighs, and whatever other parts that share a tool with the thighs. |

Given that it would take an equal amount of work to get an effective Ultra Magnus out of ER Optimus, they chose the wrong one.
Siege Magnus was weird, but it worked for what it is.
It no longer works, here.
In fact, I'm a bit befuddled as to why they didn't just pretool a UM trailer for Optimus.
I'm giving this one a had pass, but if they do a delta magnus repaint, I'll go for that.

That's less a butt flap and more just a... butt? A very strange butt. I dont have Siege Magnus but the butt on it appears as though its supposed to end up on his back, though it isnt in most promo shots. If thats the case surely K Magnus will do the same? |

The photo of the white robot on the back of the box has that arse piece rotated up. Doesn't look so bad. I haven't opened siege Magnus so I don't know what that looks like on the original.

Actually looking at the back of box shot, yeah theres a butt flap but not that giant thing.
More than likely will go for this one. While I liked the idea the RID Magnus cab mould never looked right. Armoured robot mode looks at least as good, inner robot I was never a fan off, this isnt worse, Cab mode kind of looks worse but only because the G1 style remould is so superior to the unchanged shoulders and arms that it looks worse when on its own. But the arms are hidden, a bit, when the trailer is attached making for a better overall vehicle mould.

That wouldn't have been high on my to do list.... or indeed on it at all. Apart from that the Super mode just looks like a clean version of the Siege. The cab/smaller robot is a bit of a dogs dinner. Nothing is quite the right proportions on the front in either mode. As has already been said the front bumper backpack is hanging off his waist, where it would sit in super mode, as opposed to being on his back, in stand alone mode The trailer is a disaster. Doesn't look like Magnus' trailer. OK it might not have been 100% realistic, but it was Magnus. They've remoulded the sides but it doesn't help it look more like original Magnus and you don't notice till they're next to each other. So why did they bother? |
