Having looked at some images of Action Master Slicer, I see the lilac shade of the Decepticon logo on this new one is true to the original toy. I suspect there's some Fun Pub complexity going on here as to why this toy is Shattered Glass Wheeljack aswell, but doesn't have a purple Autobot logo. However I can't be arsed to work it out.

It's weird though that this has been badged as a Deception, because as it is it doesn't fit this SG line. I'm guessing that SG Wheeljack and Slicer are the same colour scheme, so this toy serves as both, but as part of this line he should have a purple Autobot logo. His colours don't go with all the whites of the Deceptions. His blue goes with the Autobots.

Mine is due today assuming no fedex shenanigans.
Been extremely anxious because the driver has dumped the last few packages a quarter mile away from my house on the side of the road. Including yesterday's, while I was at work.
While I'm off today, it's raining. So gotta swoop in as soon as I get a tracking update or it'll get ruined.
Unless he decides to not deliver at all, which has also happened for seemingly no reason.
I hate fedex.
It's almost 6pm. Should have had it hours ago.

Their intent was a Slicer update, but that pesky Autobot symbol was there. So what they did have him actually be reality hopping SG Wheeljack posing as Slicer (whether Slicer was a real dude he replaced, or Slicer was a made up persona is unknown to me). While I hated SG, it was a pretty clever explanation for the autobot symbol they were stuck with. However, this is not an issue with ER Wheeljack. The fact that this toy gets a lilac decepticon symbol instead of a purple autobot one means G1 accuracy trumps SG in hasbro's eyes. Which is a good thing! |

Tigerhawk will never be reused again, except for maybe a reissue. They got rid of the sculpted symbol on Armada Hoist. On Armada Wheeljack, it's literally an important part of his character, and there's no reason Scavenger shouldn't have one? |

Moulded Faction symbols automatically limit your repaint choices to the same faction unless you do some remoulding ala Hoist/Ransack.
It leaves the Decepticon leader for Universe, Razorclaw, with the wrong symbol on his chest which has evolved some really complicated fanw**k explanation for it.
Wheeljack's been reused ONCE when there's a plethora of decent repaints that could have been done if he had no symbol
Scavenger could easily have got a Decepticon repaint at some stage.
Hoist did get remoulded to fix it but that's quite a small piece his is on
And then there's Botcon Slicer!
So while we're on the subject.... which other toys have moulded faction symbols fixing their allegiance?

He's already in constructicon colors. And his actual repaint of Treadbolt (or whatever her name is) is construction yellow.

That's a far clearer and simpler explanation than all the waffle on tfwiki, thanks. I understand now. That's what was going on in the first IDW SG comic, SG Wheeljack was in disguise as Slicer. Because basically they're the same toy. So that's why they can get away with doing Slicer as an SG toy, you can claim it's Wheeljack undercover. Got it. |

Aaaand she's here. Fairly intricate tampos but nothing to really get excited about. The colour scheme is much more Decepticon than SG Decepticon, which given it's lifted straight from the last two Flamewars is hardly surprising. Doesn't really do anything to add to the collection. When you consider the whiteness of the Megatron/Soundwave/Starscream trio this doesn't really fit.
