From Generations 2022: block model of MP Skyfire with MP 10 Convoy v2 I could have sworn we mentioned this when it was rumoured some months back but can I find a thread? No!

I'm DEFINITELY not buying this one either.

Hmmm. I'm pleased enough with the Siege Jet/Fire.
*looks at size*
That'll be £200, I reckon.

I wonder what this will bring to the table that Siege didn't?

Less detail. Fewer play features.

Well, it'll be lacking the gaping side holes.
Let's hope there isn't too much fakery and backpack panel nonsense.

The jets are almost £200 each as it is. I love me some Jetfire but I'm covered MP-wise by FT Phoenix. This will have to be seriously impressive for me to sell that and rebuy.

He's gonna be seriously impressive to usurp Siege Jetfire, too. Looks like he's not much bigger, and Siege has detailing that modern MPs usually hate, and he actually does stuff.

Yep, it's definitely an odd choice to release this after the perfectly good Generations Jetfire. I'm sure there's a market for it, but that cool "close the fist to release the weapon grip" feature of Siege Jetfire was much better for me than individually articulated fingers...

I always try to buy official so should this actually be a thing that is happening and not pictures of a proto that didn't make it I'm probably down.

Looking at Skyfire and comparing him to FT Phoenix, it looks like Skyfire doesn't have a waist swivel. Am I looking at that right?

That's supposedly a conceptual model for basic size and concept, and not an actual functional toy, if I understand correctly. A prototype of a prototype

Yeah, gives TakTom an idea of part count for budgeting.

Meh. Looks way too detailed. Also I'm sure his left leg was drawn shorter than his right one in a few Sunbow scenes so I'm disappointed not to see that reflected here...

Trailbreaker was about £120-140, so double at least? Skywarp was £190ish?
I'm struggling with MP now because of the lack of space to display them and the burden of spending hundreds on changing out existing figures like the jets. I'm up for finishing the Diaclone cars but using Fans Toys to do it because their look works better with the older MPs than the new MPs do. I'm also just about there with the season one cartoon characters.

Do we really 'need' an MP Jetfire after the Commander one?

Well, here we go: news.tfw2005.com/2022/06/03/transformers-masterpiece-mp-57-skyfire-official-reveal-images-457684Gotta say, it doesn't look like it does much different to the Siege Commander Class toy. A bit more articulation, perhaps, and it has miniature versions of some characters to board it in jet mode, but it's also lacking any C.O.M.B.A.T. C.O.L.I.N. ports for adding additional parts (of course, because it's a Masterpiece), so on balance I'd say it's no better. Also, I'm really not a fan of the cartoon aesthetic in these things, because it makes the toy look really plain and basic. Given also the undoubtedly-eye-watering price, this is not for me.

How bizarre. It still looks like a prototype. I'm fine with the angular robot and lack of detail, but that jet just doesn't look particularly refined, the angles of the limb panels evident on the undercarriage.
