It's a pity. You could argue these are hard to do because of what they are, or that the MP line has evolved over twenty years, but the long and the short of it is that 3P companies have shown they can do these characters far better so Takara don't really have any excuse. This Cliffjumper will presumably be the same price Bumblebee was. It's just ridiculous for what these figures are now.

Looks pretty similar to the original mould so I don't think so... But that spoiler is obscuring his face in bot mode! I know Bee didn't have a spoiler, but someone can't have looked at this and thought yep, that's enough hard work for today. |

I actually find the alt mode kibd of endearing and it's very impressive how they get those ridiculousy big legs into the car, but this is like the Transformers version of a Sonic the Hedgehog game from the 2000s.

Fiddly floppy foldyouty panely mess that doesn't even look good in robot mode.
Car mode is a nice replication of the chub-look the '84 Minis had, but aren't MPs supposed to have realistic car modes and cartoon robot modes?

The recent one is T-2-140, not 1-2. So a second revision of the testshot, individual number 140? Can't be the 140th revision of test 2, surely. Even so, this is very odd now. Over two years since the rumour started saying MP49 (which has become Black Convoy since), test shots since last July and yet not even a grey prototype in Figure King? It would not surprise me now if this turns out to be a remoulded KO. That happens a lot with TFs these days, the MP KOs that come out now are often tweaked or refined to fix perceived 'problems'. Why has this been constantly leaked when none of the others are? And where's Jetfire gone? |
