Prowl isn't any chess piece. He's the guy who moves the chess pieces. Opposite Shockwave.

I wanted Eaglemoss to do Transformers but... I guess I should have been more specific with my "wish." (I wanted them to do starships and their fantasy alt modes.)
Unsurprisingly this is falling flat, and now I worry that Eaglemoss will take this to mean no one wants TFs from them.

Unfortunately that will be their takeaway, as opposed to "no-one* wants to pay that much for an oversized chess set with pieces that are of that poor of a sculpt"...
(*Okay, 188 people would, but that's not a huge number.)

As a chess set it's too big, too expensive and not functional as different pieces have different moulds.
As a Transformers collectible the moulds aren't particularly good and the figure->chess piece pairings don't always make sense (although there's no reason why you couldn't play Prowl as a Knight if you wanted to.)

It's not so much the number of backers as what they pay.
Currently £64,917 pledged of £218,591 goal with 10 hours to go. So they're not even a third of the way there.

Hmmmm, similar problem: hard to tell the pieces apart.
I've never tried to play 3D chess though. I'll have to look up the rules, I'm sure I read some somewhere once.
But Staunton all the way when it comes to pieces.

Well I don't know what Stauntun is, but Staunt on relates to the nineteenth century English chess master, who was regarded as the strongest player in the world from 1843 unti 1851. He promoted a chess set of clearly distinguishable pieces of standardised shape – the Staunton pattern designed by Nathaniel Cooke – that is still the style required for competitions today. He was the organiser of the first international chess tournament in London, 1851, which was won by the Prussian Adolf Anderssen who then replaced him as the recognised strongest player in the world.

Yes they did. They were steam powered.
