It is weird how the aged one looks better. We usually go for best possible quality of anything being collectors, but the aged version just looks like it fits with the others. It feels completely authentic.

There's a wonderful look to that 4 colour palette on newsprint that when done right absolutely sings. Look at how bad just dropping it on modern paper looks - compare BWS's Weapon X in Marvel Comics Presents to the trade versions - ugh.
Would also recommend The Outsiders Annual 1 - drawn and coloured by Kevin Nowlan to see what can be done with that old school colour palette.

The MEGATRON TRIUMPHANT rectangular box really evokes the Marvel UK house style of the time period. I only realised how unique it was when I spotted a few Complete Spider-man UK comics on a market stall recently and could tell it was Marvel UK from the rectangular box & typeface.

Hope you picked up those Complete Spider-Man comics, they can go for a pretty penny these days. I did! I'm now the proud owner of issue 13 and 14. The ebay prices seem reasonable. A few sellers are asking crazy money, but the sold items seem to be under £10 |

Andy Oh man, I had those as a kid. It was definitely a Morbin-time. I wonder how much of McFarlane's run on the Adjective-less Spider-Man title was just working out the aesthetic for Spawn. |
