Those look more realistic compared to the dates we've been given so far; Legacy W1 April and W2 in July instead of W1 in July as given by Pulse/Kapow etc at the moment. So global shipping problems permitting that should mean Blaster by the end of the month and Legacy W1 showing up from late March. Sounds about right.

But I love Hotshot-from-Hound. Cybertron Hotshot was an armored vehicle so it carried over well to the Siege Hound mould. Still can't see Hosehad coming out of this. You could, but it'd be about as accurate as Hotshot from Hound was.

Ultimately they look nothing alike. Colors, head, and name alone. That's my point. You could make a Hosehead retool out of Bulkhead, but it'd be Hosehead in colors and name alone.

Is Legacy the clothe shied of the Transformers franchise...?
(I'm not have no idea what I mean by that; I'm a little tipsy and there's jusht bean a very dramatic moment on Doctor Whoop.)

I find Siege and Earthrise to be completely unmemorable. I genuinely cannot remember what they look like. Kingdom however, I think is the best packaging we've ever had, and I wish to god they had given us mini posters of it instead of those pointless golden disk cards. Legacy is a logical extension of Kingdom. Where the previous was nature themed, this is machine. But I don't think it'll pop out on the shelves like Kingdom does. And now because no one asked! Packaging I remember: · Some G1, but some might be due to constant reuse through packaging homages and reissues. · G2 because I friggin' HATED those. The clamshells were a nightmare, and the carded ones were a pain in the ass. But I don't remember what the boxed packaging looks like. · All three Beast Wars styles (normal, TM, TM2) · Universe 1 because it's oddly generic · Armada · Movie 1 · DotM · Animated (barely) · Universe 2.0 because of that horrible character art · Generations 1.0 I do not remember · Some G1 · Generations 2.0 FoC-T30 · Energon · RotF (except NEST or HftD, but don't remember which) · AoE · TFP & Beast Hunters · NuRiD · Combiner Wars · Titans Return · PotP · WfC Siege · WfC Earthrise · Bumblebee (movie) · Cyberverse (even though it's on shelves right now) Buzzworthy Bumblebee, Studio Series, and Netflix WfC remain to be seen. (I don't think Studio will. I think I'll forget what it looked like the second the line ends) I do remember Machine Wars, RiD, and Cybertron, but I don't know if there's a specific reason they imprinted on me, or if they actually were memorable to me.

The Auto Rollers also came in boxes here. (A prelude to the Mega scale?)

.... which effectively started in 92 with Rotorstorm & Stalker and continued with the Lightformers & Trakkons in 93..... who then get carded for their G2 versions!
Pyro & Clench meanwhile have boxed Euro G2 versions!

Looks at pictures. Yeah, you're right. Still like Siege Hotshot, but yes it's a new variation at best...

Oh, I'm not saying he's bad. I like him too, and the reprolabels that give him his flames really brings it home. It works for Hotshot because we're used to him getting dramatic redesigns every so often (something hasbro doesn't do anymore)
But he comes from a more oldschool type of homage hasbro doesn't do for G1 anymore, where they take a any truck or suv mold they have, paint it black, and call it Trailbreaker Ironhide.
Though they have no problem doing that with non-G1 characters like Hotshot, Bulkhead, and various megatrons that aren't based on the '84 gun.

Don't forget the Action Master Exo Suits and vehicles from the previous years before...
Mega Pretenders don't count though. Too big.

I am so glad we as a society have moved on beyond clamshell packaging for toys. I remember it used to be marketed as "collector friendly!" because "it's reusable!" But I never understood how it's reusable because you need to absolutely destroy it to get at the toy. If you don't have a boxcutter? Then I guess you don't get to have the Captain America figure you just bought. Then the cuts. Always slicing myself open on the plastic.
But the G2 ones... those took everything horrible about it and compounded it by molding it to the specific toy, which made it even harder to cut open if you failed to pry it apart. That's a saving grace. There was a 20% chance you could pry it open. Marvel Legends and electronics/hardware didn't/don't.
(I wish others would move on, too. Electric shavers and faucets and stuff do not need to be in clamshells, either!)

Because of course *true* collectors do not open packaging and play with toys! Or something.

There are some clamshell designs that have plastic popper buttons indented into the design to close it rather than being heat sealed around the outside. These need to be taped shut for security just like a box would be though.

Still loving that packaging. Having had time to dwell on it some more the only one I'm interested in this wave is Arcee. Which is good - that'll be cheap. *tries to put SS Bumblebee toys out of his mind*

I'll be getting Skids, and maybe Drag Strip depending on how I feel if I see him in person.
It's a F1 car, I am fairly helpless in these matters.

I definitely want that, and I can move the original to a much lower priority on my need list.

He's quite a bit larger than I was expecting, given the filler accessories.
Also I wish they followed up with this being an insect themed vehicle like the original, instead of a robot insect, like the TR version.
