Couldn't sleep this afternoon. Just done a major post 1 reorder so it makes more sense and updated the info. While doing so it's become apparent there are several styles of play involved that let the toys ranges be grouped together Core (traditional size classes which may or may not have a Core size class)
Beast Alliance (toys with beast companions)
"Changers" (toys with some sort of gimmick transformation
Role Play
Autobots Unite (which I know *NOTHING* about) |

There's a few toys out in RotB casting Prime in a white lion form... I would be unsurprised to see him reborn as or bud off a Lio Convoy in the film.

I'll probably end up picking up a Primal at some point, but not at full price, not with that bland colour scheme. Whilst I wait hopefully they'll announce a more colourful repaint. (It'll be Nemesis Primal. Of course.)
The Prime looks like it might be better to pose and fiddle with than the Bumblebee Movie Studio Series version... but it also doesn't look as good as that version. So I'll certainly pass, at least until I've had a fiddle with one myself.

First: I got the Cheetor threepack, wrote a huge post about each figure, and while checking over accidentally pulled the page down too hard and refreshed, erasing it. So to summarize, I like both vehicleformers, but both are a pain in the ass to transform. I actually prefer Wheeljack as a junker minibus to him veing a lancia. It fits his personality better. I also want this mold repainted/retooled as Rest-Q. Cheetor is my favorite version of him. Aside from the way the head tucks into his beast neck, his similarities to Kingdom are as superficial as the similarities between ER Prowl and SS86 Jazz. They both do very similar things to achieve very similar robot and beast modes, but go about them differently. And RotB fixes issues that Kingdom had, but has a few of it's own that Kingdom doesn't. If they give us a Nightprowler or Shadow Panther repaint, I'll replace my Kingdom/Legacy version. Second: I wonder if they'll supplement the deluxe maximals with new stuff? They have quite a few autobots and terrorcons to draw from for future waves, but they used up all the maximals between the deluxe and voyagers. In the old days we'd have a a dozen new maximal characters to fill the ranks, but these aren't the old days, and Hasbro is allergic to new characters. However, that said this doesn't meet the usual standards for rejecting new. I'd not be completely surprised to see a deluxe Skullcruncher or Silverfang. Nor would I object to it. Third: I need one of these to be repainted/retooled into Rad and Lionizer. Arcee & Silverfang   |
