Arm has a nasty ache and stiffness where I was jabbed yesterday. If that's as bad as it gets, I'll take it.

Strange circumstances at present. Having had a covid free workplace all the way through this pandemic, we now have an outbreak that has quickly escalated. I started today with eight of my class out either with the virus or waiting on a PCR result. During the day I sent three more home who were displaying symptoms, two of whom tested positive as soon as they got home. So basically at the moment I'm working all day in a room full of kids who are passing the virus between them faster than I can spot the ones who have got it. The best I can do about this is open the windows and pass round the hand sanitiser.

Ive had it for a week or more now. I don't think I knew anyone (besides Mrs Ralph) to get it during the first 15 months, now everyone seems to be falling ill or is surrounded by people who are.
Everyone approaching or passing 6 months post second jab with no other preventative measures in place sure was a great plan.

Yeah, out of five teaching staff on my uni course, three have had to to take time off with the Covids. It's making me pretty nervous about being in the studio, but I can't work at home.

As Covid's not going anywhere, I expect all of us leading relatively normal lives, or living with people who are, will catch it sooner ot later. Plan here is to keep taking the regular lateral flow tests so that I can spot it quickly if/when the time comes and retreat behind closed doors for the duration.

Morning All!
It's Tuesday
Yesterday: Busy at either end of the day. Evening's church event was probably the most complex Zoom tech we've done yet. Shattered by the end.
Today: J college. L teaching x 3 plus got a meeting. I'm aiming to do as little as possible but my monitor on my desktop has died so I'm going to need to swap that out.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Something has never happened before: an employer has actually organised a Chrimbo meal, paid for it and booked a private room for it. I was thinking of going but not sure now with Omicrontron on the prowl and my booster not due until December 29th.

Martin As time goes on the effects of Covid should diminish, viruses *generally* exchange effect for transmissibility over time. Got back in from Newcastle yesterday afternoon, didn't do much as I was pretty tired. Was in the office today, looks like this might be the last trip in before Christmas due to Omicron precautions.
Booster shot booked for a week on Saturday, early morning.

My 10 days is nearly up and thankfully i havent been too bad, mild flu territory but a lot of the symptoms havent really improved either.
This doesnt really surprise me, ive always been slow to recover from colds and flu.
But the timing sucks if it means i miss out on extra shifts in the run up to Christmas.
No making those up.
Oh well.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday: Total write off. Not good first thing, then a fall. Gave up and spent most of the morning and afternoon in bed. Face wasn't great all day either.
Today: Decent night's sleep, thank you Lord, but wet first thing outside. Need to do the supporting documentation for the motorbility form, print out & post the DWP letter and sort food order for tomorrow. Homegroup tonight.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. In advance, Pray for Friday which is the rescheduled (twice) trip to the dentist for a double extraction. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

The NHS advice is really confusing about when folk can get a booster. I had booked for Dec 29th before the rules changed so I think I can get it sooner. Booked again via local health site for the 6th. Is this allowed? I hope I don't get turned away.

You think thats bad, trying trying to work out what you are supposed to do after your 10 day isolation period if you are still unwell.
Every version of it basically says isolate for 10 days from (x) or maybe longer if some symptoms persist.
Nowhere do they bother to then clarify which symptoms, for how much longer or how to go about doing this in regards to work.
So after scouring the various websites for any clarification I called 111, got a call back from someone who got me a call back from my GP (which I never would have gotten on my own or at best would have taken several hours). The worrying thing is that they didnt know if I still needed to isolate or if I was simply needed to be on sick. If they think Im still infectious its isolation, if they think its just my body taking time to recover, its continuing to be off work but no longer isolating. It appears to be a judegement call which is a little bit worrying.

Morning All!
It's FRIDAY
Yesterday: Bit of a mess & a struggle. Lots of little things going wrong which weighed on the head. The Tumble Drier dying was the biggest problem but we think we've sorted that already. 40 mins hunting for my iPad data cable probably used the most spoons, and a disproportionate ammount to the task because I got so frustrated. I did find it in the end which meant I could move the files I wanted to the iPad and into Comic Zeal, archive them on the PC and then do the backup.
Today: My long awaited showdown with the dentist to pull two damaged rear molars. First attempt was cancelled with me in the chair when they realised a member of staff they needed wasn't there. Second was cancelled with less than an hour's notice. My day is clear apart from that, as I suspect I won't be good for much, but Liz & J off to Ikea then J has gym. Disco S4e3 at 9pm.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray teeth come out easy and my head copes with experience. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Second anniverary of my first date with my now wife yesterday. We had planned to go to an Indian restaurant we like which has all the tables spaced out but changed plans as I haven't got my covid booster yet and the mixed messages from Government is very confusing. Had a takeaway instead.

With news of Omicron getting people who are double jabbed, I have changed Chrimbo shopping plans. Ordered stuff online to send to my folks. Already ordered a thing for Jen. A brief runaround planned in one shop tomorrow for small things after a wedding and then I am not setting foot inside an enclosed space this side of Chrimbo. Don't want fooked for that. Also: tons of Uni work I need to pile through so I can take time off at Chrimbo.

I just changed the brush on my electric toothbrush after leaving the old one on for months more than I should have done, and wow, what a difference - so powerful! Then when wiping the handle dry it slipped out of my hand and fell into the toilet. Dammit!

Morning All!
This Is Saturday - Wear A Smile!
Yesterday: A mixed rollercoaster. Dentist canmcelling at 8am was a blow but after it happening TWICE previously I was prepared: I was in the middle of leading a prayer meeting on Zoom at the time, saw the message on my phone and just carried on! L & J failed to get the bed from Ikea they needed for L's Mum. One of my friends successfully sourced me a new monitor - THANK YOU! - which worked perfectly first time.
Today: L off to Christmas craftfair with friend then we're both off out to lunch with a friend while J goes to assist Grandma. Zooming Mum later this afternoom tonight.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT and Head cope OK. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Busy day. Tutorial this morning, wedding to attend this afternoon (a small affair with masks mandatory) and some Uni work to do as well as a run to Asdaland so I can pick up some Chrimbo pressies. With them done, no more going indoors anywhere until meal on Chrimbo Day due to Omicrontron as I don't want to miss that.
We had planned to see the Snowman and the Snowdog inbetween as they are visiting a town outdoor market but it's pissing down.
