Sky are on ep17 so 2 ahead of the service you have to pay extra for & doesn't have all episode up. I'm just using a free month offer.

Really enjoying this series. It's not for me, but I like what's on display here. You can certainly see Nick Roache all over the designs, and the score (especially in the Home 2-parter) is absolutely fantastic!

I just watched and enjoyed the first episode. I couldn't stop smiling at the Sunbow homage. On to episode two!

On the downside, Prime and Megatron's faces are terrible, Prime particularly. I kinda like Prime's awkwardness though. Take away the silliness from that and he's quite like the Ladybird one. I didn't know I needed Tired Dad Megatron and Weird Uncle Optimus energy from these characters, but I am living for it.

Certainly one of my more favourite versions of these characters at the moment.

I can't decide if I'm enjoying this show or not. I'll find myself liking bits of it, and then I'll just wonder "why?". It's like I can't reconcile the good new "sci-fi with elements of darkness and philosophy" parts with the equally good "found family learning life lessons for kids" bits. It's all good, but I want it to commit more in either direction, I suspect. {Spoiler}Like, you'll have an ep where it's revealed that Optimus has made a deal with the Devil in Ghost, to the extent he won't trust them with the Terrans or Bumblebee, but is happy to cart off captured Decepticons, gets called out on it by Megatron, of all people, and then you do an ep with father/son bonding time and beating the baddies with sticks. They're both good, but one of the directions will have to give at some point, if only because the show is going to have to commit to stakes, surely? I've not quite finished the Netflix eps, so I'll stick around and see where it goes at least.

Is it just 10 episodes?

I expect Netflix will do their usual thing of calling blocks of episodes "seasons", if we are lucky they will drop the back ten as "season 2". But by past performance they could easily split it into "Season 2" and Season 3" and drop random numbers of episodes at a time. <glowers at the memory of Princesses of Power>

Probably. Although Paramount+ have already done that by breaking up the 1st season into blocks. The first one was 10 episodes, as Andy says, and then the next lot were 8 episodes. We're still waiting for the final 8. I can't remember if Paramount tried to sell these as being separate "seasons", though.
The big question, of course, is whether Paramount will pull the show before dropping all the episodes, for tax write-off reasons. Since that's what all the cool streaming services are doing these days.

EarthSpark's heading to the BBC! toyworldmag.co.uk/hasbros-eone-secures-uk-broadcast-deal-for-transformers-earthspark/"The first ten episodes will launch on 24th July on CBBC, from Monday to Thursday, and will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Following the release of the first batch of episodes, additional new Transformers: EarthSpark content will continue to roll out on the BBC platforms." I do wonder if Paramount Plus is already floundering, with some of its content a having been pulled or sent elsewhere.

Well that is a surprise. It's been a while since a TF show had such easy access for viewers. That can only be good for the brand: get it in front of kids!
TF on the BBC!

The article says it's the UK theatrical part of eOne that's closing, not the whole thing, though there are other cost savings taking place.

Finished watching Earthspark now... ...and it was fine. Never quite completely edged over into greatness for me, which is a shame, because I was rooting for it. But still good.
What I did like was how a lot of the Cybertronians turned out to basically being very tired dads, which is relatable. And the body horror with Mandroid was unexpected. What I was really disappointed in though was the very abrupt end to the season. A prolonged, two-episode battle where friend turned against friend, and then once the fight's over it just ended, like it was a Michael Bay film or something - they should have done a Linkin Park needle drop and given us a quick shot of the American flag.
Whilst I wouldn't necessarily expect a Lord of the Rings style epilogue for a kids' cartoon, given the ordeal the kids and the Terrans had just been through I think they needed just a small bit of healing, and of making up with the Cybertronians, otherwise it leaves them with the last interactions with their parent figures being a violent and confrontational one, which feels uncomfortable to me. Especially for a childrens' show.

Upto 18 was on Sky. Are there more for series one? If they are released in 3 parts rather than 2 lots of 13

There are 26 episodes in season one. They've been released in three blocks, 1-10, 11-18 and 19-26.
I think the numbering is out of whack on some services where two part episodes have been listed as one. There are three two-parters in the first 18 eps, which would explain why you're seeing 15 episodes.
19-26 were only released last week state-side, so they may not have got very far yet.

I agree with this. The individual beats are still excellent, but the culmination of the story arc as a whole, while perfectly serviceable, fail to live up to the greatness of earlier in the season. To do that, I agree that I think it needed an epilogue episode.
