Personally I'm not going to be able to resist the Pending Harmony Gold Lawsuit Pop: (Yes, I know, it's not as straightforward as it may seem. But they'll try it. You know they will.)

Any attempts to True Friend me TF Funko: don't bother. I genuinely would bin them instantly. Seriously, don't waste your money.

Cor, if I'd known that was allowed by the rules I could have saved myself a lot of time with that Class shite.

One set of rules for some, others for the rest of us! So it seems. Well I know what to do with any more BF Class bobbins now should it ever come to be.

I'm not a lawyer, so I dunno the reasons, but they can't sue over the Jetfire issue again, after the previous case [G.I. Joe and the Transformers boxset with Skystriker coloured as Jetfire]. I thought we already had a thread for super deformed toys but I can't find it.
A word of warning. The recent Retro Toys Transformers Pops are not as sturdy as typical Funko, because they don't have such solid legs. My Target exclusive Bumblebee (the one based on the Classics hatchback) fell off a four-foot cabinet the other day and both legs snapped off! My amazing fiancee did jump straight online and buy me a new one, but I was still upset because I'd found the original by chance in Forbidden Planet during a birthday-treat shopping day in Cardiff. (Such days having been a rarity during covid.) On the plus side, the seller also had an NYCC exclusive Tracks, which I didn't even know existed, and Kiera bought me him too.

Like all right-thinking people I despise the aesthetic of human-based Funko Pops and so I tended to avert my eyes from the shelves in HMV, FP and Entertainer in central Cardiff occupied by these awful things... until chance led me to notice one I actually liked, namely the Horde Trooper, of which I bought three off the shelf to support my two Origins Horde Troopers.
This has meant I have lingered over the shelves in question in shops these last few weeks, and have noticed the Transformers ones, including Tracks which is indeed available in central Cardiff (can't remember which of the three aforementioned shops).
But none of them made me want to own them.
Just the Horde Troopers.
Oh, and I bought Leech from HMV.
Sorry, gone off-topic in a TF thread.

Before I bought my cheap army of three Horde Troopers (which I just regard as a different model of robot rather than super-deformed) I already had four Funko Savage World Thundercats baddies, which I consider decent toys, so I can't be purist in disdaining every Funko product. Stopped clocks get it right twice a day, etc.

I have most of the Pops but not the ridiculously overpriced exclusives (Stinger, Nemesis Prime and Jetfire). They're not the best such figures, though: Herocross' figures are better but they all pale to the super-deformed Japanese Beast Wars figures, in my opinion.

I thought we already had a thread for super deformed toys but I can't find it. There were a few posts I could find in the Tat thread There's a general Funko thread in the other toys forum tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/8491/funkoThat there's just two posts in it should give you an idea of how most of us feel about them

Looking at that Unicron: is this the first non-HasTak, official figure based on Armada? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Did Kabaya do any?

Hmm. Now that I look at it again, I think the fact that it's part of the Retro Toys line was making me imbue it with Armada qualities that actually aren't there at all, plus there are elements that certainly didn't look TFTM to me. I've just looked at a few different Unicrons including the TFTM animation and it's actually closest to HasLab Unicron than anything else.

That is, sadly, not surprising given the rate that they churn these things out. I would say "surely they would've realised that wasn't sustainable", but that would be against everything late-stage capitalism stands for, so no...
