Hmmm. In theory I am against plastic trays. They are more difficult to make flat to minimise space taken up in the recycling bin.
In practice it probably isn't going to matter that much given how few I am likely to have over the course of a year... :-)
So, yeah...

As a retailer, I haven't found the type of packaging to make any difference to sales, be it window with plastic, window without plastic or fully enclosed. That said, last time I was in TK Maxx, there were three of the younger Earthspark toys, those where the toy is totally exposed, all with bits missing.

I guess, if nothing else, this means we can expect a Generations Acid Storm in the near future...
Not sure if this'll be a good thing or a bad thing though. If he's going to steer Generations away from being a Black Series-like ouroboros then that'll be a good thing. But will he..?

I've seen one commenter elsewhere claim he's just finished running Power Rangers into the ground, but I don't follow PR, and you know how fans can be, so...

It's been Figures, figures and more figures. I think I've seen 3 Hasbro Zords? Certainly nothing current. Is there even a current PR show?
It would not surprise me if Bandai has whipped it back to their US dept having seen the error of their ways

I don't know this guy at all but big business going back to someone previous does usually seem to go with a more conservative approach, focused on extracting safe profits in a low risk way, which would make sense given Hasbro's poor financial performance.

Which tbh, was some of the most profitable Transformers times in recent memory. He also oversaw initial production on Kingdom, so helped with the reintroduction of Beast Wars. I don't think anything bad will come of Warden being back, we're not slaves to the G1 aesthetic any more.

It's been Figures, figures and more figures. I think I've seen 3 Hasbro Zords? Certainly nothing current. Is there even a current PR show? Nope. Hasbro's first era wrapped up with a NETFLIX mini-series which was a "return to old villains and a triumphant final struggle of good over evil" thing and then...word is Hasbro is currently planning a reboot at some point in the future. But... yeah..no, there isn't a Power Ranger's show currently. Bandai let go of any interest in Power Rangers a while back. They still had a standing agreement that Hasbro could borrow their stuff (although it was more a "you want to borrow the suits from <insert Sentai>. Yeah, they are probably in the cupboard somewhere" by the end), but they passed on any interest in doing toys for it a few years ago - Hasbro are the sole owners of the Power Rangers brand now and have been doing the toys and the show basically solo for the last few years. I don't think it bothers Bandai terribly much to be honest. Super Sentai still seems to be doing gangbusters, even with them going quite experimental for the last couple of years with that. A Planetary Romance styled other world, with kings and queens fighting an insect Space King to save their planet or a bunch of...very dysfunctional folks loosely inspired by the tale of Momotaro...barely forming any kind of team to fight artificially created beings made in another dimension that is created from human thoughts...it is rather like they took "the americans aren't really interested in adapting our shows anymore" as license to just run full-pelt towards the unusual. (This years show is a little more conventional, but still has a bit of that 'we can do anything' energy). I think they are more interested in promoting their own stuff, like the big push Gundam and Gunpla are getting state-side than they are in a profit-sharing arrangement with Hasbro. Karl

I'm not sure I can go through buying all the G1 characters again. Although Studio 86 is pushing us that way. It's going to happen though isn't it. For an adult collector line they aren't going to pursue the 'multiverse bits of everything' idea indefinitely, Warden will want a brand refresh again and ironically we already know we're entering the next combiner era.
I can't help but wonder now whether new figures a year down the line can top what we've had over the last few years. Hasbro have to cost cut, figures will get smaller and cheaper to produce just like they have going back from now to Titans Return. The extra articulation pushed the War for Cybertron line above the Prime Wars one, but a new improvement on that for the next generation seems a tall order when costs are being cut everywhere.

I'm not sure I can go through buying all the G1 characters again. Well who knows what is coming. In general, though, my buying of the new TF's has slowed right down as I have reached the point where I either own (or have owned) "good enough" versions of certain characters/toys (G1 or otherwise). I've become bored of the endless remakes and find myself going back to older lines. -Ralph

Maybe (I don't really think this will happen) they will buy in and expand on Missing Link in a homage to the creation of the brand!
It would be very Battlestar 'This has all happened before.

Well now we know why he's back at TF.
Under Warden Joe was barely more than a line of TRU exclusives that recycled the same set of characters ad infinity.
When he moved on to TF, Joe actually started to grow again. People talk about the franchise, again. And by people, I mean non-fans.
We all know his time with TF. He didn't run it into the ground, but we saw an unprecedented focus on G1, the almost exclusive focus on the collectors line of Generations. And once he was gone, we started to see TF branching out again.
When Hasbro acquired Power Rangers, it had been the only true rival for TF in the western toy isle. It was a global juggernaut. Under Warden, it was turned into Marvel Legends an Adult Collectable Action Figure line. We saw the death of kid focused toys, no transforming zords that aren't high end super expensive (and frankly rubbish) Adult Collectables, and the death of the show itself, with zero interest in creating the next installment. He ran it into the ground so hard Hasbro is now offloading it.
What does this dude have on Hasbro's CEO that they keep him around?

The instagram link shows he just got notified so he won't be going to that show now. He references "layoffs" so it's not just him.
Probably just the usual cold Corporate High Command Horribleness of 'efficiency'. Is an earnings call due?

I wasn't the greatest fan of some of the stuff he did, a very G1-centric position and very anti doing beast toys/Dinobots for a long time. And his post first go at Transformers handling of Power Rangers wasn't good. But he was responsible for Combiner Wars & Titans Return, two of the greatest Generations toylines - even though there were odd choices made in both of those too!
But I don't like to see anyone loose their jobs. Hope he finds something in the future.

It's depressing to see people laid off, especially creative types, when you know for sure that despite any "cost savings" that might be needed for the last quarter of the year, absolutely none of the executive level people will be leaving - and they'll be keeping their massive salaries, too. I'm also really not looking forward to the announcement that Warden and others will be replaced with ChatGPT/Midjourney - at a higher cost than Warden's salary but one of the executives had "implement AI-based solutions" on his goals card for the year so, you know, what else could they have done when there's that fat, executive bonus and stock options to be obtained..? (This is of course conjecture, but I've worked for large businesses, and will be more surprised if this is not the case...)
