Big shoulders don#t turn with the arms, ala Legacy Laser Op. ... Turret restricted so it won't turn 360° or do rude robot mode :-( Those are a bit disappointing. It's like the designers never actually try and play with these toys...

These are all about posability and taking pictures.
I'll pass on Megs. At that price and with no action features? Nah.

There's definite value in doing this toy, It's hitting spots the original missed but is missing a lot of the ones the original hit.
It does look very nice, especially when covered with Micromasters
I think if I'd held it in hand before buying it I may have waited for the Galvatron redeco which I don't have the Armada mould of

Oh man, I hadn't considered the possibility of needing both of them. Hmm. I have an Armada Galvatron. Maybe I can avoid the new one. I need the Evolution Megs regardless though. Toy icon!

I however cannot afford to wait for the redeco. My track record with Armada (and energon) was waiting for the "better" redeco, and then it either never happens, or becomes harder to get and more expensive than a botcon exclusive, and then the original deco vanishing from retail (having previously been a shelfwarmer), and second hand prices skyrocketing.
This happened with Overload/Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper/Beachcomber, nearly happened with Bulkhead/Quickstrike (I very much lucked out there), and very adjacent were Thrust/Red Thrust, Sideways/Rapid Run, and Scavenger/Treadbolt.
The last three, I started to wait for red thrust, but ended up buying the regular deco because I was weak. While the red deco never happened in the US. The others had those deco options been known when the originals came out, there's a high chance I may have waited, and lost out just like Overload/UM.
So the FOMO is real when dealing with Armada and characters.

Oh, I can feel my resolve weakening here. But why does he have a claw hand if he doesn't have the flip out knife?

He played the PS2 Armada game a lot in the early 2000s.

I think many people would consider £55 for a new pair of knees a bargain.

Had a shot of Phil's. It's an odd one. As a toy in its own right it is quite decent. Big and chunky, nice colours and sculpt. It is very poor compared to the original though. I consider the original Armada Mega to be one of the greatest Transformers toys ever made...and this new one is just...fine.
Better than I expected though and I now see myself cracking when it drops in price. Not at £55.

Putting it next to the original was what I was threatening to do with it all weekend to spoil it for you!
Ralph is right though. It's an odd toy, I'd love it without the original existing. The articulation is a plus, but the upper shoulders are again fixed, ala Legacy Laser Prime, and anything resembling an action feature is gone.
Did you transform it Ralph?

I got mine today (And the nemesis leo prime which isn't worth talking about), and I love him.
The shoulder thing: • Isn't as annoying as it is in Laser Prime • I can understand this time from an engineering standpoint why it would be a bit harder to articulate them as part of the arm. It's possible, but it would be more difficult than it would have been in Optimus. • This proves Op's arms should have been stowed up in the shoulders like his.
But yeah. He's great!

No, Evolution United. Thrilling 30 was TEN YEARS AGO!!!!!! If Thrillin 30 was a person it... still wouldn't be old enough to drink. But we would be making choices about which secondary school to send it to.
