I'm in a bit of a mixed position with these. I quite like the Toxitron - the colours are terribly silly, the "splodges of goo" are properly worthy of a kids toy. But...having paid full-price for the actual design as Scourge... I'm not sure that it is worth the retail price. Ironically I might have been more tempted with it if they'd just used the cab and weapons, given what little play value there is in the trailer.
Might be tempted by Cloudcover. I'm slightly surprised that they are going for a Russian digital camouflage scheme on him at this particular point in time, but it is an interesting look - and we don't get many real-world decos on aircraft TFs these days.
That Jazz isn't really grabbing me. I think it is the fact that it looks kind of bland without any differentiation on the face at all. It doesn't really speak to me.

As I said on the call last night, I am tempted, but having paid full price for the mold twice already I am not overly keen on doing it a third time, even if it is nicer than the Laser Rod one.

I don't have the mould so I am all-in for gaudy colours.

Karl Completely agreed with this re:Jazz then saw the photos the designer shared and now I think it looks great.

The packaging's the best part. In the boxes they just look so, so painfully '90s. But in a good way. And Jazz is the best of all of them for that.

The packaging art lately has been terrific. I could happily see a nice art book covering Siege onwards.

Siege has an art book, doesn't it? Or was that just the TV show?

I always assumed it was just the TV show, but I've never looked into it!

I hope there are more jets in this line. If we're getting the blue Ramjet I wonder what hope there is for Blackout. He doesn't really fit the bright colours idea though.
Cloudcover, G2 Ramjet and Sandstorm... Nice trio, but there are other moulds Hasbro!

Cloudcover, G2 Ramjet and Sandstorm... Nice trio, but there are other moulds Hasbro! Jungle Starscream too. Though if they renamed him Skywarp you could put him with G2 Starscream and AMTC. Another nice trio. A follow up to this subline could drop the "toxic" theme and give us the slightly less mad repaints. Personally I'd love to see the packaging based on the Cybernet Space Cube.

Cloudcover, G2 Ramjet and Sandstorm... Nice trio, but there are other moulds Hasbro! I am honestly surprised they haven't milked the seeker mold. I mean there are so many seeker decoes, they could do three gen selects a year that are exclusively starscream/conehead repaints, and have enough to last for years without needing to dip into unreleased or new decoes.

Yeah, it is baffling. I'm amazed we've not had a Sunstorm yet, or anything. It's really been quite a bizarre decision to make these molds as difficult to get as possible. I wonder if the Siege Rainmakers box set didn't sell very well or something (partly because it was, of course, a store exclusive) and so Hasbro decided that people weren't interested (in sets they couldn't find easily)...

Rainmakers was in such high demand it had a rerun. The rerun sat a bit. Hasbro are aware of the demand for jets and that they've ballsed it a bit recently, hence the Evolution PRs at retail of the former Conehead exclusives.
I am wondering if there's some Japanese exlusive/propriety issue with Sunstorm as there aren't many Western versions of it and even fewer at retail

I always thought it was just because Aaron Archer liked Acid Rain/Storm/Whoever more, and that just squeezed Sunstorm out from having as many repaints. But that doesn't explain why we've not seen a Sunstorm since then - we've had G2 Ramjet, so it's puzzling we've not had him...

Sunstorm had a big glut of being the go-to, for a while. Most of it in Archer's run Not counting the e-hobby original, kreo, or botshots, or random tat, he had seven toys. Two of them Masterpiece.
So I don't think japan has dibs on him.

No, maybe not quite. I'll have a think about how to word that better, but I've had multiple occasions where I've thought "why isn't there a Sunstorm here?" I've owned TWO I think: The Universe 1 Armada Thrust repaint and the Legend repaint of Cybertron Starscream

The Earthrise strike plane mould would look amazing in the Sunstorm colours as seen on the Takara MP.
Based on the wiki, he hasn't had a full-on transforming toy in almost a decade, the Hasbro MP. I have a feeling that one didn't do very well and ended up on discount - maybe that's why?

Yeah, that one was discounted. And indeed the only reason I have one is because it was thirty quid in Toysaurus... Worth it, though - it's a very nice looking plane.

Yeah, I've got the Masterpiece one and the wonderfully gaudy colours (like an airshow scheme created by a colour-blind technician with a paint sprayer) did a lot to make up for it being the not-so-good version of the original MP jet mold. I've actually not felt the need to buy any other Sunstorm as a result. (Same goes for the Acid Storm. I got rid of the Classics jet version and kept the MP version because the version of the scheme on that looked much better (and dafter)).

Yet more beautiful box art! They should make t-shirts to tie into this subline, they'd look great.
