I have finished reading this. It’s all fab. I really appreciate having a colour photo guide to the toys. The most intriguing part for me though was the article about the early comic strips in the Eagle. I would love to read them. I don’t suppose they’re online anywhere?

I am looking forward to picking this up at the weekend! A Matt-edited Zine is always a pleasant surprise, I never know what to expect, other than that it'll be great!

I have mine now. What a doorstop of a zine! I'm going to enjoy this, but on flicking through, I can't believe Matt's put together an entire toy guide, that's brilliant. Such good photography too.
What's this that is also in the box? It looks like a Blueshift Productions replica of Micromaster Eagle Eye done out in Leader One colours? Is it really? That is quite amazing. And a cyber key too!

We don't yet know what Project Francis is Crossover for the upcoming Deadpool movie? It could be his scooter... And the scooter could be repainted into that Gobot scooter chap that there was! #Shockprowlknowsstuff Did you know that you can learn about the mighty Gobots in a fine publication, just published? -Ralph

Just finished reading all the Eagle Robo Machines stories. Very enjoyable, in light of the lack of robot characterisation. If there had been a double-page spread with all the Guardians introducing themselves, or some character profiles, I would no doubt care more when they bought the farm. But still a good read, with a nice Man of Iron / Rom feel to it.

It's certainly a fun story. It made me wonder what Transformers would have been like if IPC had the licence here instead of Marvel.

Hopefully they would have still acknowledged and built upon Bob Budiansky's tech-specs, which Robo Machines sadly lacked.

Ralph and I have talked off and on about trying an IPC style TF tale over the years, maybe worth revisiting...

Ralph and I have talked off and on about trying an IPC style TF tale over the years, maybe worth revisiting... I've been thinking about this. The immediate thought is, what would make it sufficiently different from the Robo Machines story to be worth doing (and not just a clone of Robo Machines). I suppose the main difference between Robo Machines and first-year Transformers is that the Autobots were more numerous and all road vehicles and the Decepticons were fewer and all jets and mini-gadgets, whereas the Guardians and Renegades were evenly numbered and complete mixed bags - they had a jet or two each, a helicopter or two each, a motorbike or two each. It was almost as if the toys were assigned allegiances at random. Curious how the two toylines took such different stances on whether or not to divide them up into heroes and villains based on their forms. Martin

OH MY GODFATHERS!!!
Every year I'm blown away by the quality of the magazine you guys put out, but this year the quality is just incredible! And and and IT'S SO THICK!
I had no idea just how nostalgic I would find what are known to me as GOBOTS!
The toy guide section was a trip down memory lane... so long forgotten.
I remember studying the card back of the one figure I had, Geeper-Creeoer (who I renamed 'Jetrunner'(?) and made him a Deception), wishing I could get some of the other figures.
The ambulance, space shuttle, the train. And the one I wanted the most: TANK!
Years later, a spectacularly lovely Nick (or was it Blueshift himself?) very kindly gifted me a Tank and a Dive Dive after I'd bought something. Tank is such a unique design.
The toy range is just so varied and and and charming! You go from futuristic tanks and jets, to everyday vehicles, to military vehicles, to to to CLASSIC CARS WITH TOP HATS!!! Lots of motorcycle style figures. And to make the goodie leader a fighter-jet and the baddie leaders a motorbike?!?!
But there were so many I'd never seen before. And the names!!! THE NAMES!!!! Brilliant and hilarious! I showed the kids and they thought the names were very funny, their favourite was the mighty SPOONS! HE'S A FORKLIFT TRUCK CALLED SPOONS!!! Pumper and Dumper. Hans-cuff. Brilliant brilliant names...
I Haven't finished reading everything yet, the mag is just so packed!
So far, as well as the fantastic toy guide section, I've really enjoyed Pinwig's history of the comic, and I thought Andy's art in 'Revenge if the Robo Machines' that followed it was hauntingly reminiscent of the early Marvel UK art! The Doctor's stories are gloriously obscure, I laughed out loud to "Gobots in Disguise', one can stare at the Space Battle double-spread for days and still find new details, and 'A big hand for Cy-kill' was disturbing but brilliant!
There's just so much to read and discover!
Absolutely incredible guys, your geniuses.
And and and it's THICK!
