Ah. Phil has a problem: Now Phil would like a book with this material in, It's good stuff, especially the Project Pegasus story itself with Byrne/Perez art. I preordered it and the current price on my preorder is £17.56. But since I preordered it this has happened: Now on Marvel UK, but not open for order yet Marvel Team Ups 47 (Thing) 100 (FF) 132 (Mr Fantastic) & 133 (FF) might help pad it a bit. There's another Thing MTU but that's 6, prior to MTIO starting. MARVEL FEATURE (1971) #11-12, MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE (1974) #1-19 and MARVEL TEAM-UP (1972) #47 www.amazon.co.uk/Marvel-Two-One-Epic-Collection/dp/1302913328So.... Do I keep the preorder open and dump the book when the Epic containing it comes out or skip it in the hope MTIO Epic run gets that far?

It's what I'm starting to think.
I do already have the story in the Essential MTIO, and in Marvel UKoVision and colour digital copy so ......

The all important factor I failed to mention was price. The MTIO book I was hesitating over at 18 quid becomes a much more attractive prospect at 14, as it has done over the weekend! It's interesting thinking this one through..... For most of the titles that are Epic'd I generally wouldn't buy anything published from that title not in an Epic anymore. Last year I bought two Spider-Man Alien Costume volumes, but they were material from all 3 Spider-Titles. And indeed last week I bought X-Men Blue v0 with some X-Men in the 350s, well beyond the current scope of the Epic Collections, and have it's twin X-Men Gold v0 on order. I know if someone did an X-Men Brood book (150s-160s) or X-Men JRjr or a X-Men between Mutant Massacre & Fall of the Mutants or Avengers 197-211 I'd but all those in an instant. But I can't see those happening and several of them are virtually Epics already. In fact I won't be surprised to see the X-Men between Mutant Massacre & Fall of the Mutants volume coming next year (something like 210-219, X-Men/FF, X-Men/Avengers & Spider-Man Wolverine) purely because I can see an X-Men hardcover containing similar material on the runway! So really the only classic titles I'd want that hasn't been Epic'd are Marvel Team Up & Alpha Flight. Then I see A Spider Man/Iron Man MTU volume and I start thinking that that might have Epics coming .....

Unexpectedly.... X-Factor Epic Collection: All-New, All-Different X-Factor www.amazon.com/dp/1302913867/December 11, 2018 No other info but that's got to be containing 71. OK, Fag Packet out.... I think this is v6! Punisher Epic Collection: Circle Of Blood www.amazon.com/dp/1302914073/December 24, 2018Probably v1. Unless they do an extra volume collecting his early appearances in Spider-Man and the like like the Essentials did.

OK, X-Factor Epic Collections
v1 is out and contains 1-9. We *think* v7 starts with 71, the first new X-Factor. So....
I think v2 is 10-20, Thor 373, Thor 374, Power Pack 27, Thor 378, X-Factor Annual 2 & Hulk 336 & 337
v3 21-37, Annual 3 (Fall of the Mutants, possibly includes Power Pack 35)
v4 38-50, X-Men 242 & 243 and Annual 4 (starts with Inferno)
v5 51-59, Annual 5, X-Men Annual 14 & Prisoner of Love
v6 60-70, X-Men 270-272 (possibly 273) & 280, New Mutants 95-96, X-Factor Annual 6 (includes X-Tinction Agenda)

v7: 71-82 or 83 + Annual 7. 84 is the first part of Xcutioner's song, which they'll want to have in one volume so I'm guessing it'll also include all of X-Men Annual 1, Uncanny X-Men Annual 17 & X-Force Annual 1 which, with X-Factor Annual, make up Shattershot.

83's definitely in there: It's Mark Pacella's only X-Credit at the time and he's listed on Amazon as a creator (not always a guarantee!)
Rurik Tyler pencilled X-Factor 82, Jim Fern pencilled X-Factor 79, Fabian Nicieza wrote Annual 7.

Punisher Epic Collection: Circle Of Blood – December 24, 2018 www.amazon.com/dp/1302914073/Probably v1. Unless they do an extra volume collecting his early appearances in Spider-Man and the like like the Essentials did. So if this is v2, what would be in v1? This is the other material that was in Essential Punisher v2I didn't buy the Punisher Essentials as a rage but I did buy v1 and it was a stonking collection so I have money for a colour version.

He's gone from X-Force by the time X-cutioner's song starts

Some more X-Factor digging.... The Peter David Visionaries volumes contain the following issues: Visionaries 1 71-75 Visionaries 2 76-78 Incredible Hulk (1962) #390-392. Visionaries 3 79-83 Annual 7 Visionaries 4 84-89 Annual 8 Which solves the problem of how to cut the Epic volume before it hits X-Cutioners Song at 84 nicely: throw in 3 Hulk issues!

I discovered on a recent check that I do not own the first issue of that title. I thought I had a full run, but it turns out I've never owned issue one. I will rectify this with an eBay search at some point.

See, under normal circumstances the contents of Phil's library would be absolutely mind blowing. It looks like a Forbidden Planet shop in there. But it is just one of many things that blow the mind in Phil's gaff.
However, it has inspired me. I have bought my first Epic Collection book. The journey begins.

The Punisher one. I'm a fan anyway and have Punisher trades already, but I know my collecting habits - all or nothing, so the fact there's only one out so far means I'm not already chasing a dozen others! Tis in the post.

Wolverine Epic Collection: Blood Debt, the one that Amazon UK still believe is out 4th Oct 2018, has arrived. Didn't realise there was an Ian Churchill drawn issue in here, I'll enjoy that. 150 looks interesting too! Origins I've read many times: will need to check to see if the extras in the stand alone TPB are also in the Epic Collection.

Essential Classic X-Men getting into the Neal Adams era. I might pick that up to see how spiffy it looks in black and white. Andy I've got a colour reprint of some of it which is hideously recoloured. It occurs to me that the forthcoming X-Men Epic Collection 3: The Sentinels Live might be the first time I've read those issues in the original colour. I've read some of the Neal Adams run in the dreadful recolour but not all by any way. The rest has only been read in Essentials or Marvelukovision.

The Bizarre Adventures 27 saga rumbles on..... Phil isn't sure he has the Phoenix story from Bizarre Adventures 27 Phil apparently has a copy of Bizarre Adventures 27! Have you not read Bizarre Adventures 27? You're in for a treat! 2/3 of it are the very first X-Men I ever read when the Nightcrawler & Iceman were reprinted in an ancient Marvel UK Winter special: britishcomics.wikia.com/wiki/X-Men_Winter_SpecialShouldn't be too hard to find. I've got one anfd there's a few on eBay right now. The Phoenix tale in it has been reprinted: Marvel Masterworks X-Men iirc and the Iceman one in the Iceman LS TPB. The Nightcrawler hasn't but I assume it'd turn up in any future Nightcrawler LS trade as it's the basis for the the LS I can't find it. My only thought is it's in the loft with the Marvel UK X-Men Winter Special that reprints the 66% of it that isn't the Phoenix tale: The Nightcrawler & Iceman tales and the profiles for all 3. This morning, while studying en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Masterworks trying to make up my mind what to buy from the Comixology Masterwoks sale I discover that Bizarre Adventures 27 is reprinted in full in Uncanny X-Men Masterworks 5, which I have a paperback copy of. Thus following the rules of Trade Disposal the Iceman limited series hc can go as I'll have that in the New Defenders Epic and the Iceman Bizarre Adventures 27 story in Masterworks 5.
