When these came out I was busy reading Age of Apocalypse and had little idea of quite what was unfolding in the Spider books, all I knew was there was some long complicated Spider event in progress and every time I checked it was still going. I can remember my Local Comic Shop Owner being VERY pleased when it finally finished.
So how far have we got?
I've got a thing on what issues ar in which bits of the Clone Saga and which books have reprinted what at
philsotherthings.blogspot.com/2023/06/spider-man-clone-saga.html It's far too big to reproduce in whole here.
Spectacular 222 and Web of 123 are the first two parts of the Players and Pawns chapter.
The same two issues take us into the material in Spider-Man Clone Saga Complete Saga 3 trade:

A long road ahead....
Here's how the ASM Epics stand

27 The Clone Saga 393-396
28 Web of Life, Web of Death 397-399
The Epics in that gap probably map something like this:
Epic 12 207-223 Annual 14 Annual 15 (Punisher & Doc Ock) - 21 issues worth
* 207-223 & Annuals 14-15 are the O'Neill Run. ASM switches from 17 to 22 pages with issue 210
Epic 13 224-241 Annual 16 (Captain Marvel) - 20 issues worth
* 224 is the start of Stern's run which runs to 252 in Epic 14
Epic 14 242-258 Annual 17 Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man 85 - 20 issues worth
* Peter Parker 85 is an essential part of the Hobgoblin story cover dated December 1983 the same month as ASM 247
The one volume gap between 15 Ghosts of the Past and Epic 17 Kraven's Last Hunt is the notorious Epic 16: Amazing Spider-Man 273-288, Spectacular Spider-Man 111 (which follows on from ASM 273) & Marvel Graphic Novel 22: Hooky. This is almost certainly the number 1 most wanted Epic Collection!
ASM 273 feeds into Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man 111 so that's probably in there too. ASM 279 is part of the Missing In Action crossover with Spectacular 117 and Web Of 16-18. That could well make a contribution to ASM Epic 16 but I see it more as Web Of's event. Unfortunately the mapping I have for Web Of makes it a little difficult to fit in the ASM & Spectacular issues at that stage.
My hopes of the exclusive Spider-Man story from issues 607-610 of the UK weekly are receding in Amazing Spider-Man Epics.

101 Ways To End The Clone Saga
Dead Man's Hand.
If Clone Saga is collected in the same number of books as it took them previous, 11 over both the Clone Saga & Ben Reilly ranges, we're looking at another NINE Clone Saga Epics. I think we might shave 1, possibly 2 off that but we'll need to wait and see.
And BEYOND The Clone Saga (yes there is an AFTER):
www.mikesamazingworld.com/main/features/series.php?seriesid=3985&page=galleryAmazing Spider-Man runs to issue 441
So purely from ASM there's 418-441, -1, Annuals 97 & 98 yet to come.
432 is the second part of Spiderhunt
1) Sensational 25
2) ASM 432
3) Spider-Man 89
4) Spectacular 255
434 & 435 are the second and sixth parts of Identity Crisis
1) Sensational 27
2) ASM 434
3) Spider-Man 91
4) Spectacular 257
5) Sensational 28
6) ASM 435
7) Spider-Man 92
8) Spectacular 258
440 is the second part of The Gathering
1) Sensational 32
2) ASM 440
3) Spider-Man 96
4) Spectacular Spider-Man #262
5) Sensational 33
And 441 is the first part of the Final Chapter
1) ASM 441
2) Spider-Man 97
3) Spectacular 263
4) Spider-Man 98
I think we're looking at c2 more Epic post Clone Saga to the end of the original Amazing Spider-Man volume.
Amazing Spider-Man Modern Epic 1 Coming Home has been announced, collecting from issue 30 of the 1999 series.
www.mikesamazingworld.com/main/features/series.php?seriesid=8896&page=gallerySo the first 29 issues of that will need to be collected in classic Spider-Man Epics and it's quite likely they'll be rejackets of the Spider-Man: The Next Chapter books:
Spider-Man: The Next Chapter 1
Amazing Spider-Man #1-6, Annual '99
Peter Parker: Spider-Man (1999) #1-6
Thor (1998) #8
(392 pages)
Spider-Man: The Next Chapter 2
Amazing Spider-Man #7-12
Peter Parker: Spider-Man (1999) #7-12, Annual '99
(368 pages)
Spider-Man: The Next Chapter 3
Amazing Spider-Man #13-19, Annual 2000
Peter Parker: Spider-Man (1999) #13-19
Spider-Woman (1999) #9
(400 pages)
Spider-Man: Revenge of the Green Goblin
Amazing Spider-Man #20-29, Annual '01
Peter Parker: Spider-Man (1999) #25,29
Spider-Man: Revenge of the Green Goblin #1-3
(440 pages)
*POTENTIALLY* I make that FIFTEEN more classic Amazing Spider-Man Epics to go and a grand total of 43 classic Amazing Spider-Man Epics !!!!
