Cybertron Metroplex and Nemesis Titans don't come with a little extra pal. That feature appears to have been quietly dropping from this size class. Was The Ark the last one to have a pal? Yep. This is one of the reasons I've become a lot less interested in Titans in recent years - the lack of play features out of the box is certainly one of those, and yes, having a smaller toy to run around the base mode of a larger toy is one of those things. Just think back to the glory days of Trypticon - that came with a smaller figure who was also a Titan Master! Where's that kind of thing gone? (Sacrificed in the name of profit margins, I know.)

The shift from 'these are toys' to 'these are adult collectibles' may also be a part of it.

The shift from 'these are toys' to 'these are adult collectibles' may also be a part of it. Catering to a naturally-diminishing consumer base with less disposable income than it had in previous decades is certainly a sound business decision.

The action figure market (at least in North America) seems to be going the way comics went there. Both were mainstream products available everywhere, greatly appealed to children and had cheap entry points. Then both increasingly became aimed mostly at adults, prices hiked considerably and they became siloed in 'collector' shops and sales dropped from what they were quite a bit...
Not saying this is a bad or good thing, but it is interesting to note the parallels.

Think I'll pass. Space is limited for such large toys. Would rather get the Armada version.

Did enjoy Kapow's salty FB post about the big H recently. Hard to disagree with anything they've said. No knock to the Design team or their work, but absolutely rock-bottom levels of interest in most of H's offerings currently.
This must be what it was like to be a Joe fan in the late 90's to mid 2010's.

It's size, price, and wrong colors that puts me out.
If it had been a commander, I'd have put in a preorder in the first ten seconds. Now I'm gonna wait for a clearance sale.

I think I am the one person who is pleased that this is in the Shockwave colours, which I've always thought were the best colours the mold got, but the size is entirely too large to a ridiculous degree and as a result the price is at a point where my brain goes "two months entertainment budget for a toy, hahahah - how about no?"

I am absolutely having this, the question is, what's the price drop threshold for me to pull the trigger?
And will it reach that point? Where are the sub £150 Nemesiseseses?

I am firmly at the point where I think Commander is as big as Transformers should get.

I am firmly at the point where I think Commander is as big as Transformers should get. I reckon if the size is valid for scale then it's okay, like Fort Max and Metroplex, but it's beyond needing to be an annual release for the sake of it now. I'd have been happy with a Commander for Tidal Wave and other than him, I can't think of anything else now that warrants titan size.
