If I buy a Transformer like really early in the New Year... I might be winning, for a short time at least. Until THE BIG PHIL takes his rightful place.

I have set myself the challenge of no more than 50 purchases in 2024. This thread will show if I achieve this.

Even now I can see the words "there may be 300 toys in this box but it only counts as one purchase" looming.

All of my 2024 purchases have already arrived.
So my "so far, all of them" statement has to be changed to "none"

It's 14 hours into 2024 and the number stands at: 0 I have also yet to win the lottery. So no TFs, and no Rich. 2024 is officially a bust.
Do multipacks count as one, or the number of guys in them? Do accessory TFs (battlemasters/targetmasters, titan/headmasters, minicons) count as individuals?
Does Deathsaurus count as one (as a full set), three (Deathsaurus+breastmasters, Fixit, and Seawatch), or five (deathsaurus, lion breast, eagle breast, Fixit, and Seawatch)? Does Needlenose count as one or three, given his two targetmasters really are just glorified accessories?

People seem to tread their own path, but the rule Phil established is that any individual transforming robot counts that isn't sold as a direct accessory of another. So Headmasters and Targetmasters that come with their parent robot don't count, but a Titanmaster sold on its own card back does. As does a battlemaster, they turn into accessories but are sold separately. That seems to work.
That also means multipacks count individual robots: a micromaster two pack is two robots.

By that rule, Deathsaurus is three and Needlenose is one.

I personally count just one per package. So if I buy a box set of two or more toys, I count that as one item.
It doesn't really matter. Count whatever way you want!

There isn't really a Code per se, and if there was it would be more like guidelines anyway...

Currently on 0 robots, which is rare for me. But no new Legacy wave near me yet!

None here yet. I really want to keep it to 50 or under TF purchases. Partly because of a change in focus (want more older stuff/the more mad new stuff) and also because going overboard on TF spending in 2023 meant other hobbies were neglected somewhat.

I don't usually list mine individually, but as of today:
1. Toxitron Cloudcover 2. Toxitron Laser Cycle 3. SS Gamer Ed Barricade
All from ID's sale. Needed the first two to complete the Toxic collection and Barricade obviously to celebrate passing Shockprowl's post count.

I'm just tidying up, but the order was made on Monday because I wasn't sure when they'd end that sale and Cloudcover was only twenty quid. In fact because I pulled that Christmas wheeze with the Black Friday stuff, the entire toxitron collection cost me £35 quid.

I didn't realise that Cloudcover was in ID's sale. That was one of the few toys from last year I still wanted. Grabbing it for the price of a deluxe will do nicely.
So:-
1. Cloudcover

Cloudcover wasn't in the original Black Friday sale otherwise I'd have got him then., he seems to have snuck in unannounced sometime later. But yes, that mould in those glorious colours is a steal for twenty quid. I was just looking to get him to complete the Toxic set and was surprised by the price.

I thought it was pretty tame compared to the other Toxitron sets, but for £20, I'm not missing out on some G2 goodness.
Still need a re-release of the original colours Ramjet and Thrust, mind.

All the Toxitron toys look nice together. Themed waves/sub-lines are just so much more exciting than random bits from here and there. -Ralph

Oh yes. Very definitely. I get the same vibe from the Shattered Arse bunch too. Sub teams and groups that make mini collections are what I love because they give you a finite goal to aim for and then look great on a shelf together. I think that's one of the reasons why I like the Special Teams so much. Collect five and you're done, and they look bloomin marvellous together on a shelf.
That's also why the current approach to Generations isn't really doing it for me. It's too little of too many lines mashed together. You could say that Legacy/Evolution is a sub-line in itself (obviously it is), but because the characters all come from other lines it doesn't feel unified to me. Which is ironic given that by calling the new line 'United' that's clearly what they're going for. They did Beast Wars well, but everything else feels half-arsed and spread too thin.

1. Legacy United Thundertron
In all honesty, I ordered this along with a GI Joe Classified figure I wanted to bump the total up into free postage territory on Pulse and then forgot about it.
He seems quite nice, but I'm generally not in for paying full retail on mainline figures and Thundertron seems like a candidate for a steep clearance discount later in the year. But never mind. Could start the year on worse notes than a pirate robot cat Transformer.

I might buy a The TransformersTM toy when I'm town tomorrow to get on the leaderboard. Wish me luck.
