Back home late last night after speaking on a three day course in Cambridge. Which was after a very full week of school visits and hosting other events. Shattered now. My post-hospital stuff was kicking in again even before all that but job done. All good stuff but really feeling it now though. Fortunately have a day off booked into the diary today. Catching up on various things to organise this week before heading back out to another school at the weekend for Monday next week.

Two hours sleep last night, to add to the three hours from the night before. Not entirely sure how much of what I am currently feeling is the initial anxiety, and how much is the result of sleeplessness eroding my capacity to cope with it. Still got a nagging sense of waiting for the other shoe. If it is out there I almost wish it would actually drop. If whatever it was could be got where I could see it then I could deal with it better. When I can't be sure what the actual cause of what I am feeling is it is much harder to deal with.

Four and a half hours sleep this morning. Which is only about two hours less than I had all weekend. Which is, not great but I'll take it. I've been doing some pondering today and I think I may have got my head back to a reasonable keel - not entirely wings-straigh-and-level by any means. But I think I am back from clipping along the edge of a stall, where I have been for a while now.
I think part of the issue is that I am worrying about a member of the family who has been having some health issues, and about the potential impact of them on their life (not something I can go into any more detail here), and I think that may have put me in a state where a number of things that I might otherwise normally have just gone "eh, whateves" at have been eating away at me as well.
Also, I need to push on with resolving the Karl has too much stuff in his house issue, because that is not helping. I may also be trying to do too much, in terms that I don't know that I am allowing myself enough proper down time - you know, just vegging in front of the tele-box or with a good book and a nice cup of hot beverage. Less is more sometimes, and perhaps I need a little bit extra of that sort of more.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday: Bit of a struggle. Woke up full of cold, sore throat and with not enough sleep. Spent a lot of the morning in bed. Stayed up a bit too long in afternoon waiting for a parcel for Jonathan. Felt v Meh physically in the evening but some unexpected toy announcements spiced things up. Got a few things done which is something to show for the day so not a complete right off and my new Epic came :-)
2am :-( No voice at all this morning!
Today: Hoping to do trip out with L v early. Rest the rest of day, Homegroup tonight. Hopefully my Marvel Universe Omnibus will show up. J college this afternoon.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

My normal rota day off, had a wee lie in.
Will go for a run later today, but right now a cup of tea and some relaxation. Can't be beat, I might have parcels arriving over the next few days with some TF's and Super 7 Ultimates, that's right - two lots in the same year. Madness!

Whew.
Safely home after the expensive bit of my four weeks off, a theatre break to the big city. Planned to be away for three nights, but GWR scheduled fun and games on the railway in the vicinity of Swindon last Sunday, so I tagged on a cheap night in Reading at the start of it to avoid travel woe. On holiday in Reading. I discovered it had food and cinema ('Wonka'). Could have been worse.
The three days/nights in the capital were more fulfilling. Saw 'Argylle' from a recliner seat in Vue Leicester Square. Saw 'The Play That Goes Wrong' at the Duchess Theatre. Walked up to Camden Town via the British Museum and saw the Tom Hanks 'Moonwalkers' experience at the Lightroom. Saw 'The Motive and the Cue' (a play about John Gielgud directing Richard Burton in Hamlet) at the Noel Coward Theatre. Walked by the Thames. Bought G.I. Joe Classified Scrap-Iron from FP. Saw Lee Mack in 'The Unfriend' (written by one S. Moffat) at Wyndham's Theatre. And almost read to the end of 'Making It So'.
Over-achiever award went to Mark Gatiss, who was director of 'The Unfriend' in one theatre while acting the part of Gielgud in another theatre a few blocks away.
Can't beat a change of scene and some good stories to provide escapism and recharge the mental batteries.
Tomorrow I plan to collect my new glasses and do very little else.

I have reached the weekend, and I am still just about functional. I think I've limped in at about 80%, which isn't too bad all told. Looking forward to a couple of days where the most complicated thing I need to do is play Star Trek:Online.
(Still feel like there is another shoe out there, but I can't tell if that is because there really is another shoe or whether I just feel like it because I live in a late-capitalist &*&*hole where I am going to spend the rest of my life trying to avoid serious illness or death from the current pandemic or whatever the next one is.
I guess I have to proceed on the basis that if there is another shoe, it is clad in Martian manufactured stealth composite and thus isn't going to be detectable unless and until its orbit intersects mine. And therefore there is no point in trying to actively plan for something that may or may not even be real, and can't be anticipated even if it is.)
So, if I can just lock down the last few shreds of the anxiety I might even be able to come out of the weekend at about 90% - 95% all being well.

For me seeing a theatre show 'go wrong' live in front of me in an actual theatre magnifies the effect a thousand fold. So a recorded and edited telly version just didn't work for me.
I would go see the show again in a theatre.

Well if they're EVEN BETTER on stage then on the telly them I must see them!
And a recorded performance is a permanent account of brilliant and interesting things, Doctor! Do you wish that all things must exist in your mind only?
