Those pictures of Megatron and Soundwave have pretty much sold me.
I also saw the Shockwave pictures from the video game. Will there be a toy of him?
And will we get Starscream? And other characters? Is the Generations line going to run wider than just these guys?
I'm really liking Megatron. Megatron is rarely done well (Henkei Megatron was terrible....
What with Straxus coming out (I assume that is Darkmount) - that is really exiting.
I'd like to see more characters come out.
I like these incarnations. Good stuff.
Combiners where the limbs transformed would be good too.

Yeah Soundwave looks fantastic. I love that version of Shockwave! That pic of Megatron is making him grow on me. I still would have liked something more 'Infiltration'.

Now I'm having second thoughts because - you see - they don't have earth modes....although.... I guess they don't need to...these could be their "post earth" universal journey modes... But Soundwave kind of bugs me... I kind of would have prefered it if he transformed into a Cybertronian lamp post Pete

You know what Soundwave should be ? an armoured troop carrier with vehicle mode apeing his traditional robot mode as a carrier of the tape warriors.

I dunno, Soundwave's vehicle mode looks unfinished, like it is missing lots of paint. And there is also liberal use of grey plastic, one of my pet hates

I think with Megatron I feel much the same as I did regard the Animated Deluxe Megatron. Nice humanoid mode. Thing mode is........ kind of a thing of some indeterminate sort.

I will admit, Megatron is growing on me. Probably not enough to warrant a purchase considering all the other good TF stuff coming out over the back half of 2010, but enough to give it a higher mark from me than before. Has a certain something to it.

It's a new deluxe mould with an easy repaint solution. They'd be barmy not to.

War for Cybertron Megatron has a humanoid mode that is really growing on me. It feels creditably like a Megatron who competed in the State Games. A shame it doesn't really turn into anything specific though. The Soundwave is both a really nice homage to the original, and looks like a decent toy in his own right. Karl Everytime I see Darkmount I smile, and a quiet "awesome" escapes me... Less sold on Megatrons "Brick With BFG" mode. Soundwave I'll need to see in the flesh before any decision is made. Annoyingly Tomahawk and Terradive seem quite nice...

Ralph: Do not buy WFC Optimus Prime.
I will now authenticate this warning with the specially selected code words which will confirm what I'm saying to be true:
RID Ultra Magnus.
The full gory details will follow later....................

RID Ultra Magnus is awesome, Ralph just has no skills.

Does this mean that Prime is just a gigantic pair of legs with a tiny head on top?
Actually I love RID Magnus too, I bought him BEFORE Prime! :v

When I first read this thread, I thought he's okay, not that tricky. So I just transformed him back to vehicle mode for the first time (having used the instructions the one time previous) and yes, there are some fiddly little bits that will frustrate the unwary. Or Ralph.
Something I like about the Generations range is that Hasbro is now not just slapping the same skill level on all Deluxe figures. Thrust is 2 Easy, Drift is 3 Intermediate and both Prime and Bumblebee are 4 Advanced.

I actually like this guy, and had no trouble converting him without instructions. I found Bumblebee to be a bigger pain in my arse, tbh. I like them both, but I reckon Prime's the winner of this pair...
