I got mine for having my letter printed in the comic.
I’m generally quite attached to the character and design but have to say this version is doing nothing for me, doesn’t look right at all in plane mode.
Still resisting this set…

Definitely a both situation for me. They're so different. Not giving up my Unite Warriors Superion boxed set but I'm not missing out on this new super articulated version.

No, and they've been dribbling out in random exclusive sublines and then the mainline since 2022! Not even a rumour for Wildrider or Motormaster yet, at least not that I've heard.

So I too have Silvie, and he's... interesting.
As a stand alone bot, he's... He's just fine. If you have no Silverbolt in your classics collection, he's perfectly adequate.
But there's nothing exciting going on here.
He's like Rodimus. He's not worth the pricepoint. Silverbolt himself is barely a voyager. If you sold him to me as a voyager, like the CW version, I would feel exactly the same. He's just fine.
Of the three original Silverbolt molds, I actually rank him as third. CW as second, and U2 is still the best Silverbolt we got.
He's not great, but he's adequate.
Motormaster on the flipside was bloody fantastic. Fantastic stand alone figure.
When you get to Superion though, boy does it change things!
Superion is by far superior to Menasor. It's easier and mush less convoluted to get him into torso mode, while Superion himself looks and feels much more solid and stable.
Still not worth the pricepoint. I feel like Motormaster was, though.

72) AOTP Commander Aerialbot Silverbolt Really not sure what to make of this. Silverbolt jet is OK and Silverbolt + Back Brick superjet is surprisingly better than I thought it would be. The brick's wall mode is the jet bit with the robot body parts moved. Silverbolt himself.... just not hitting the spot for me. Couldn't get Superion's head inside his chest without popping the ears off Superion.... not a fan of the original. Or the Superlink. Like the Micromaster. LOVE the Combiner Wars. This one..... nice solid large robot. But somehow it's not hitting the spot for me, might be the smoothed out Cartoon aesthetic and rather small antennae. |
