Most excellent, both on the cover manip and the AllSpark thread.
I have to say though, those bastards in immigration didn't give me an American flag when I got my green card. Skinflints.

Well, here's the solicit for AHM #15:
TRANSFORMERS: ALL HAIL MEGATRON #15 Nick Roche, Denton J. Tipton (w) • Nick Roche, Casey Coller (a) • Roche, Coller (c) The redefined characters of KUP and PERCEPTOR take center stage as we see how Kup recovered from his insanity (as well as his near-death experience), courtesy of Spotlight: Kup writer/artist Nick Roche, and what led Perceptor to reject science and take up snipering! 2 regular covers will be shipped in a 1-to-1 ratio. FC • 32 pages • $3.99
So as we know, it's Nick on the Kup story and apparently Denton on the Perceptor one. I don't know if Denton writes or edits these solicits, but given that they can't even spell the word 'sniping' correctly, I am not holding out much hope for this story. And don't get me started on that 'rejects science' crap. What, is he a Young Earth Creationist now?
I keep repeating to myself that Nick's story will be good. Nick's story will be good. But by God, I will be reading that Perceptor one held at arms' length while squinting, as it seems that Denton is intent on continuing Shane's reaming of the character.
I'm well tired of this new hobby of turning every Autobot character into the same BADASS WITH GUNZ trope.
Should I even bother buying these, when I haven't been buying the rest of it?

By all means, buy the issue. Rip out and keep Nick's bits (by that, I mean the bits he's written/drawn) and return the rest.

(And how can you pull soldiers back to a safe distance from A NEARBY NUCLEAR STRIKE?) Depends I guess on how you are determining the definition of "safe", and on the actual warhead itself. After all, outside the blast zone you are going to survive the initial detonation, and then expire from acute radiation poisoning. The further away you are at the time of detonation the longer this will take to fell you. So you could say that the safe distance is determined by how long you want said soldiers to be safe for........... In other news, I have now read - courtesy of Titan - a whole issue of "All Hail Megatron". That was, surprisingly short , and rather unfulfilling. It actually took a significantly shorter time to read than the eleven page new strip in the Movie comic, and felt like it has less than half the content. There was also such a high level of stupidity on display, from both the robot and human characters that it was really difficult to work out who I was supposed to identify with. A shame, as some of the art is actually quite good. It is just in service to a story that has the strength of cheese-cloth. Karl

Yes, get used to it. I can tell you it doesn't get any better. By all means, buy the issue. Rip out and keep Nick's bits (by that, I mean the bits he's written/drawn) and return the rest. I don't think my comic store bloke would appreciate that. Poor guy's struggling to make ends meet enough as it is. He has noted that he doesn't order more than one spare issue of AHM for the shelves now, as more than that doesn't sell. He used to have two or three guys with it on their pull lists, but only one dogged soul still gets it now, the others having dropped it a few issues in. I'll likely go buy it largely out of sympathy for the store. And maybe for the cover.

I had to giggle at "Gravity is the first to feel my indifference"! Pass on my congratulations to young Sean at the Allspark for such a funny strip.

I love the whole "gravity" panel. As we all know Drift can do anything he wants to, at any time, with no prior explanation, so that just adds to teh funs!

I've visited this thread for just the second time this evening and read the entire thing, which took a lot longer than reading the comics themselves! Why? Well, I know the general consensus of opinion about All Hail Megatron but was curious about exactly what people said because... I enjoyed it! This is what I wrote back in January. I don't often post in the current comics threads, nor visit the IDW boards, because for a long time I have not read the comics immediately upon release. (There's no local comic shop.) Being up to date on AHM, knowing there's a lot of criticism on the IDW boards and having flicked through the last few pages of this thread, I have one question: am I the only person enjoying All Hail Megatron? I thought the first couple of issues were excellent; the attack on New York showed (just about for the first and only time) how vicious and devastating the Decepticons can be when left unchecked. Several Decepticons were shown as individual characters rather than bog-standard grunts. I thought the new take on the Witwickys to be unusual and refreshing. Later, we see the Autobots in disarray and bickering, clearly on the back foot; the treatment of Kup I particularly like, showing that he is back from his Spotlight trauma and ready to rumble. I'm not that keen on bringing in Drift as surely there are plenty of existing characters that could fulfil the role, but that's really a minor complaint as I'm not one of those that says you can't "tamper" with Transformers by inventing characters and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with him. In all (without wanting to draw comparisons as I'd rather measure each on merit), I'm enjoying this much more than the -ations, which I found increasingly quite ponderous and difficult to follow, though admittedly that's probably largely down to my irregular reading patterns. So, my thoughts now that it's finished? Well, Drift didn't really come to anything, did he? An existing character might as well have been used, as Drift didn't fulfil his potential. I thought the final issue was a bit weak - not for anything in particular, just a bit meh. I laughed at the bit in issue 11(?) where Prime starts to say "freedom is the right..." and Megatron tells him to shut up. How many of those speeches has Megatron heard over the years? Of course he'd tell him to shut up. I thought the take on the Insecticons and the Swarm was quite interesting (notwithstanding the Bombshell-in-Spotlight-Blaster issue). Megatron outlining his master plan to Starscream and showing how Starscream was not yet ready for command was an interesting take on their relationship, especially with Starscream ultimately siding with Megatron, realising his current position. I accept some of the major criticisms that people have given, such as McCarthy's intentions not always transferring to the page and that the whole thing was too stretched out. In fact, I even had a good laugh at that facetious review that someone posted from the Allspark at around the issue 10 mark. But, at the end of the day, for all its faults, I enjoyed it and that's what's important. Now, no sooner have I finished reading it, than I get to start reading it again in Titan form. I did have a knowing little chuckle when I read the posts from a couple of weeks ago that there was no way Titan would reprint it. I hope they continue print a full issue each month, otherwise it will go on too long - shades of the Marvel UK reprint of GI Joe Versus The Transformers. I'm curious now, because of those about to read it the first time in the Titan comic, is this thread about to be repeated in its entirety?

You made me realise something, old boy. I think the individual characterisation was, on occasion, interesting. I think this is part of the disapointment for me concerning AHM, it promised so much, but delivered so little. The overall story arch was flat flat flat.

I see from the Titan letters page that it will, indeed, be run over 12 issues. That's good. I re-read the first issue yesterday, in the Titan comic. After reading people's comments yesterday, I'm tempted to post my (positive) thoughts, but I think that will spark the entire thread again!

I've read the last issue properly now.
Ugh. Pacing pacing pacing PACING. One thing happens on one page, then something different on the next page, then something different on the next page...
Also apparently Sideswipe doesnt' even bother to see if Hunter can be saved, he just jabs his thumb into the off switch.

Does it count if you avoided the IDW release and have the slow torture of reading it up the back of the UK comic?
