I got thinking ......
You know I have this thing about Autobots = cars, Decepticons = Jets
3 of the 5 new Autobot Classics boxed toys are jets (Silverbolt, Powerglide and Jetfire). There's only 2 Decepticon Classics boxed toys and they aren't jets.
How many boxed Large ( > deluxe ) Decepticon Jets have there been ?
I can think of the Stealth Bomber in G2 (etc) but not a lot else.
Anyone ?

In G1 G2 Classics I think thats about it besides repaints of Jetfire and Powerglide oh and Skyquake and repaints. Since then AEC generally had Starscream and repaints as voyagers. So does the movie and Animated. Blitzwing is also a voyager isnt it? Megatron has had a bunch of large flying things too. Cybertron Soundwave is jet like to.
Not really that many though is it.

Overlord (mostly). I remember Darkwing and Dreadwing being pretty expensive back in the day (about 16 quid in 1989 money, so about 4 grand now) if you want to count them, although they're about the same size as the Decepticon Targetmasters. Actually, compared to the Diaclone cares a lot of the large -masters were pretty huge. I suppose Apeface and Snapdragon count too if the Targetmasters do.
Oh, and Sixshot. Pretty damn big and packaged in jet mode if I remember correctly.
It's still not that many over 25 years, and a lot of them are all bunched together around 87-88.

Micromaster Air Patrol.
Technically, Action Master Starscream. He could ride his turbo-jet!

Um. Transmetal 2 Megatron's transport mode?
On a related note, a few days ago I had an idea for an article I'd like to write. Sadly, too late for this year's Auto Assembly, but hopefully I'll get to do it for next year: think just how few Megatron gun toys there have been.

How many boxed Large ( > deluxe ) Decepticon Jets have there been? Have you been out in the sun this morning, Ralph? Mind you, one of the Air Strike Patrol chaps (Tailwind) is being immortalised in Ultra class as a repaint of Powerglide later this year. -Nick

Maybe it's another Tankor/Octane thing and they couldn't use "Tailwind" as a trademark? Maybe.

There is also Skyshadow from Cybertron and Jetstorm from the movie line (both repaints of Cybertron Jetfire of course). Also the Ultra Jetstorm from Beast Machines if he counts as a Decepticon. Also Lugnut if he's not been mentioned. Fearswoop (from 1993) also came in a box bur he wasn't much bigger than a Deluxe unless he got his big weapon out (!?) Cybertron Megatron could also become a jet (as could Energon Scorponok) but this wasn't really his main alt mode. Oh yeah - Energon Galvatron/Megatron too.

Whoops. It is Stormcloud right enough. I could never keep the names of most of the Micromaster patrols straight.

Bad Nick! I hereby fine you all your micromasters. Hand them over to the Burns Justice Department at once.

Is that the "Burns department for rendering justice" or a department that burns justice?
