Keep hangin' in there, Hero.
Good luck Nick!
Bogatan, what do you do for a job again? Dead boddies? You don't work for the Ambulance service do you?!

No, nothing so useful. Im rotoscoping the battle scenes in the next narnia film. In all the carnage exclamations to the effect "Ahhhhhhhh! theres another dead one. Has anyone done it?" are becoming more and more frequent. Much to my amusement. Hatred of horse seems to becoming common as well. And flags. And swords. And hair, hair is really hated above everything. Except Edmund, no one like Edmund, sell his family for some Turkish Delights. Bastard!

This week it occurred to me that in most jobs you do not regularly hear phrases such as "I found another dead body", at least not in a happy tone and "I'm doing the dead guy" in a really non creepy context. Andy I reckon all of the managers at my factory are dead bodies owing to how they run the place. I'm guessing that whenever they hire a new manager to sit around and do bugger all (a regular occurance at the place) they say to each other 'I found another dead body'.

Ah. Week Ten. Well, I for one am glad that is over. It didn't get any less hectic today. I started a ten minute job at 09:15, and finished it at 11:40 due to the running string of interruptions that started at about 09:20. The afternoon was pretty much the same story. Got everything I planned to do done, but it wasn't an elegant or straightforward process. Glad that week is over. I am currently sitting here with a nice cup of peppermint tea to hand, feeling I have rather earned it. Think I might pour myself a pint of Guinness in due course.

Just back from the work night out - went to the Quay for some bowling action and came out on top with a gentleman's 140.

Drank a shit load and danced like a cock in honour of my dead ex-gf, because she dances like a god and no one comes close.
She wouldn't judge me for dancing like a wanker.
In an empty world, small things like this are important to me.

Unlike woosy Susan ....... Good point, not that I read past the first couple. Also I must admit Eds in my favourite shot so far. Im now working my first Saturday at this place its very quite. London was deserted when I walked to work. Im not used to it. Tooting was busy 24/7. It felt like the first day of summer which was a nice. Would have been nicer if I could have spent the day outside, but oh well. Andy

But with it being Scotland the first day of summer means that there is a fair breeze blowing and it is chucking it down with rain...... :-) And in other news, I have been glassed..... That is, my new glasses have been picked up. They are going to take some getting used to - it messes with the peripheral vision a bit, and I have been warned to take it easy with stairs and the like until I get the hang of them as it will take a while for my depth perception to adjust. This is going to be an interesting experience. Karl

I have the exact opposite problem every time I feel like wearing contacts.

Gods, I couldn't LIVE without my contacts. Can't stand specs- know just what you mean re peripheral vission Karl! It's weird at first, but your brain soon adapts. Prob mentioned this in other optical threads, but my contacts I keep in for a whole month without taking them out. Great for shift work. Never feel them or nawt, 'cos they're the latest technology. Damn expensive though, but worth it!
Take care karl!

Phil, in ten years time you'll look back with fondness upon that moment!
Ian, you're spot on about contact lenses. I never knew how bad my eyes were until I started wearing them. Greatest invention ever.

I have four days to complete my project report and prepare a presentation on it. I have been sitting here in front of the computer since noon. My materials, methods, results and discussion sections are all but complete. However, today I am writing my introduction. Or not, as it turns out. WHY CAN I NOT WRITE ANYTHING?

I was in a very similar state not long ago. It was a rather distressing experience. In the end, I found only the pressure of time compressed my mind.

Ugggh, got a throwing up toddler here ! Said toddler threw up 3 times in total, but had a bit of a disturbed night. Then Dad keeled over at 8am while going to run his bath which meant he had to go off to be for an hour, which in turn meant he wasn't well enough to get to church. Then aforementioned toddler decided to scream instead of sleep at lunch time......

I went off to get dinner on autopilot and switched off my PC at the wall, forgetting I hadn't shut it down. I saved all my work beforehand, thankfully, but all my Firefox bookmarks have disappeared! What the hell happened? Where are they? How can an unexpected power-down cause this? I had a whole folder of links to project stuff that I really need to get back.
EDIT: Okay, once I stopped freaking out and actually had a look on the Mozilla forums Firefox FAQ I found out where the backups were and restored my bookmarks. I've lost the couple of new ones about tannins I added today, which is a pain in the bum, but whaddayagonnado?

I'm sorry Nick you can't get them back. Firefox does that if your machine is switched off and it's still running. Happened to me a few times. I now save all my bookmarks online via del.icio.usAndy

Sounds like Nick's computer has the lurgy, Perhaps for help he could ask the clergy. Then a prayer could be said, From a priest called Fred.
