Anyone play this? I've just started a two month stint, after being sucked in by a friend of mine. We completed our first dungeon, the Wailing Caverns, on Saturday which was pretty fun.

In two months? Must've been one big dungeon I've kept away from the whole online-RPG dealie for two reasons: 1) When I play a game I like the idea that I'm working towards a conclusion. In WoW the only 'end' is reaching level 60 and going to open a pub somewhere. 2) Despite that I love RPGs in general and know full well that if I went in, I would never come out. They'd just find a skeleton slumped over a keyboard. -Nick

I too have kept away from RPG's. Mainly because of the cost and also, a bit like Nick, I know I'd get sucked into it!
It looks fun and I can certainly appreciate the appeal, but I think I'd need other things in my life first to give me the perspective needed. I live on my own with no other half. I just know I'd end up stuck in WOW (or similar) all bloody day.

I'm not into these online games either. My computer is slow and old and getting it to perform such things as online games would ruin the gaming experience anyway.

Only dabbled in the game myself, spending enough time in front of a computer doing art related stuff means I don't find that I enjoy games as much anymore.
Welcome to the Hub Geoff.

Welcome to the Hub Geoff!
Not a big fan of MMO's myself. I tend to find that if I want to play video games in concert with others it works best if they are sitting in the same room so that shouts of rage and thrown sweetie wrappers can be properly exchanged. Not a big fan of the "level grind" either. I do know a lot of folk who get a lot of enjoyment out of them which is fair enough - just not really my thing.

Many thanks to all for the warm welcome i was a member before but the board moved and i just kinda lurked a bit till i got round to registering again it took a trip to AA to get me in gear (i was the guy in the black superman t-shirt if anyone saw any pictures:)
i am currently level 35 in wow but its the getting gold is a major problem for me... i never seem to have enough as i focus on quests more than on my professions

Geoff, are you the same Geoff who used to be at the Hub, had a beard, liked swords and went to a few Hub meet-ups in London? If so, nice to see you back.
If not, er, hullo Other Geoff.

I must admit I was skeptical of WoW before I played it as I had heard about the 'Level Grind' but really there's so much variety in what you can do that you can, if you are disciplined, avoid the grind and have a lot fun. Just exploring the massive world works for me.
We are on to Shadowfang Keep tomorrow. Should be fun.

I have two level 20ish characters, Maraxar and Bhrathair, in Khadgar. Maraxar is a Forsaken warrior and Bhrathair is an Blood Elf paladin. Bhrathair will be out with the rest of our small guild tomorrow morning to plunder Blackfathom Deeps.

Well, this is one hell of a necro post, but! Thought I would just post in here to see if anyone was still playing, having just started a casual horde guild on Azjol-Nerub for the levelling fun (I play alliance mainly)

I'm still playing on and off. Maraxar and Bhrathair are approaching level 50 now. Last night I did some of Lunar Festival stuff including beating Omen - I managed to tag along with a bunch of lvl 80's and stood well back while they took him down.
I'm loving the new dungeon finder. Previously getting a group together for a dungeon took ages but now we can run 2 or 3 a night.

I have re-activated my account after spending the best part of 2020/Early 2021 in lockdown.
Anyone want to form a Decepticon Guild? I play both Horde and Alliance.
